Cowardly Parkland Police Office Facing Charges for Not Helping Students
By BarbWire - June 6, 2019

On Valentine’s Day 2018, a crazed teenager entered one of the buildings at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School and opened fire on students and teachers.

By the time the teen managed to leave the campus, 17 students and staff were dead.

Surveillance video showed that Scot Peterson, an armed school resource officer and former police officer, remained outside the building while the carnage continued inside.

Many wondered why Peterson never entered the building in an attempt to stop the shooting and save the lives of students.

Following an investigation, Peterson is now facing multiple charges of negligence of duty and could face the rest of his life in prison, if convicted.

Independent – Parkland: Police officer ‘who stayed outside’ during shooting arrested on charges of neglect of duty – A former Florida police officer accused of failing to confront a suspect during a now notorious school shooting, has been arrested on charges of neglect of duty. If convicted, he faces up to almost 100 years in jail.

Scot Peterson, 56, was on duty as the school resource officer at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February 2018, but is said to have not directly tried to stop an attack that k**led 17 students and staff.

The arrest and charging of Mr Peterson followed a 14-month investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

“The FDLE investigation shows former deputy Peterson did absolutely nothing to mitigate the MSD shooting that k**led 17 children, teachers and staff and injured 17 others,” FDLE commissioner Rick Swearingen, said in a statement…

Anti-gun liberals used Peterson’s lack of action to argue against the push for having trained and armed personnel in school campuses.

Yet, this is why I strongly advocate that at least 2 teachers and staff in EVERY building on a school campus be properly trained and armed.

The reason I say 2 is that 2 have a better chance of stopping an active shooter than just one.

If this happened on every school campus in America, very few if any students would be shot and k**led and they would once again feel safe.

Good article...

It should be considered "cowardice in the line of duty" and he should be executed...

I also agree with having armed teachers...
My aunt is 70 years old and was a teacher her entire life... An excellent shot as well...
She convinced me of the intelligence of the idea

If you know how to handle a gun and are taught correctly the children are safer and they are safer in class as well because no one that is going to shoot up a school will do it where the teachers are armed because they would be k**led to quick and couldn't do the damage that they want.
