Its a functionality issue.
They work for profit. Profit comes from ad views and clicks. ad space costs and profits generate revenue.
Revenue is based on metrics.
Performance of ads that accompany certain stories. Page views drive revenue. If you continually generate.content the reader does not want. You go bust.
If you have visitors that avoid all your content you fail. so if you have a member like myself, a group of such visitors, you cater to them to get page views.
The length of time the reader spends at a page, what the member likes to read or follow, taking cues from content readers are allergic to.
So if they know ive never clicked on certain content with anti trump bias in the title or subject it follows that Yahoo they would offer some different content the reader DOES want.
The content manager at some point should stop stuffing my landing page with feeds I don't click on and perspectives I don't read and points of view I don't want to follow or know more about.
