The current muslim invasion was prophesied by Daniel in the old testament as something that would happen at the end times.
When king Nebuchadnezzar demanded that his astrologers and wise men tell him about his troubling dream and then and interpret it, or they would be put to death, Daniel came to their rescue. He correctly told the king his dream. The king dreamed there was a huge statute with head of gold, chest and arms of silver, belly and thighs of brass, legs of iron, and feet and toes of clay mixed with iron.
And then Daniel interpreted the dream for king Nebuchadnezzar. He said that each of the different portions of the statute's body represented different eras of world history with the head of gold representing Nebuchadnezzar's Babylon era. And after his rule, subsequent inferior kingdoms would rule with the final kingdom being made up of iron and clay. "They shall mingle themselves with the seed of men, but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay."
Daniel also prophesied about a rough, he-goat who would be king of the west in the end times.
