AF1, listen, read and think. I hope you'll learn something here instead of listening to CNN. China lowers price of its products sold to the US, you think it is beneficial to the US because it is cheap? Therefore instead of buying our products, you people buy Chinese products.

As a result, US manufacturing and production will decrease. Some get bankrupt and close. There will be also reduction of employees because of lesser demands for our products. Our unemployment will go up.

Do you prefer to be unemployed and be on food stamps rather than work? This is the mentality of so many, because they could not understand how economy and capitalism works. They prefer hand outing than working.

During the last administration, annual trade imbalance with China was $640 billion or more. Mr. Obama allowed US as China's biggest market consumers. Handouts loved it because they buy cheap products from China, but didn't know the effects of China's manipulation of our market.

Under Obama, Real unemployment was between 16% to 21%. The BLS (Bureau of labor and Statistics} computed unemployment reports of 5% plus, [WRONG]. Here's what happened.

The OBAMACARE, required businesses with 50 employees working 40 hours /wk or more to pay for their medical care. These businesses could not afford the cost, and therefore could not continue doing business on an ongoing concern. Solutions, they reduced the 40 hours to 29 hours. . Then they hired more to cover the hours lost of the employees. Effects? That doubled the employment which appeared to increase thus reducing the rate of unemployed.

Effects? Those employees working for 29 hours a week, could not support their families. They then applied for food Stamp, and welfare to sustain them.

Effects? Mr. Obama increased to 49 million more households on food Stamps, and 51% of households did NOT pay INCOME TAX. This is a socialistic style of economy and governance.

President Trump is fixing all of these. We must have balance of trade with China, or China could overtake US within the next few years to be number one economy in the world. They also steal of Intellectual Properties. That is one of the reasons why tariff is impost to balance our trade.

We (the American taxpayer) will lose $106B/year for the tariffs that we (not the Chinese) will ultimately pay ($831/household per year).
Then to compensate farmers and ranchers who had markets in China but are now disappearing because of China's reaction to Genius' tariffs, Genius will now take $16B of our tax money to compensate farmers for the loss they will sustain because of Genius.

Socialism is defined as 'production according to ability, consumption according to need.' Genius' farm subsidies are frank socialism. The right's answer seems to be 'Yes, but only until the market reorients itself.' Answer: The market cannot reorient itself when it saves the uncompetitive components.
The average taxpayer pays to save banks under Obama for lack of regulation, now we save farmers because of tariff policy that until 2016 no republican believed in.

If it involves paying people not to produce, if it involves saving banks and companies and farms when they cannot compete in the market place, then it is socialism no matter if you are republican bank, business or farmer or whether you are a democratic constituent of some kind. Makes no difference who receives the largesse, it is just socialism. Why is this so difficult to admit?
