Religious dogma and psychological dogma are about the same type of non-provable assumptions. One either has faith in either type of dogma or one doesn't. The word of God is an enigma and has to be taken on religious faith, the study of the human brain is also an enigma and so it too needs to be taken on faith. All psychologist do is make educated guesses based on the latest research fades.

Soooooo, how much faith should I have in this article and the only source you seem to be using lately. Is there another independent source confirming the validity of this research? If so why did you not supply it. Am I suppose to accept this link as fact because you want me to believe it is so, or because you think it (link) is so?

Religious dogma and psychological dogma are about ... (show quote)

This is hardly a new concept...I'm sure you have heard of Albert Ellis: http://faculty.plts.edu/gpence/html/sinan.htm

I would bet that this study could be duplicated right here among participants of this forum. Just read some of the over the top, h**eful and inane rants posted here in the name of God.

• Religious creeds encourage some of the craziest kinds of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and favor severe manifestations of neurosis, borderline personality states, and sometimes even psychosis.

• I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life, I absenteed myself from Christian assemblies.

• Religion is based mainly on fear - fear of the mysterious, fear of defeat, fear of death. Fear is the parent of cruelty, and therefore it is no wonder if cruelty and religion have gone hand in hand. My own view on religion is that of Lucretius. I regard it as a disease born of fear and as a source of untold misery to the human race.

Che, here's a couple more quotes for you from Albert Ellis. One is about his take on religion and the other is a fitting definition of "neurosis". I believe the second fits the current mind set of most members of both major political parties. Members of both parties are constantly whining about this or that, but with the exception of the Marxist/democrat machine even most democrats do little more than complain. Conservatives are the worst, they piss and moan, but do very little else to promote their causes.

I am not sure I buy into Ellis's disdain for religion, but here's another quote that attacks people of religion.

For that again, is what all manner of religion essentially is: childish dependency. Albert Ellis

“Neurosis,” he said, was “just a high-class word for whining.”

I didn't read your link because I am tired of that source, but I have to wonder if Muslims were mentioned at all in the article. Is there a chance that this source is talking only about the Christian God and not Allah? Just wondering and I am sure you can save me having to hunt through the whole thing to see any mention of Allah.
