We work with several middle eastern folks, and the only one I know of being a Muslim has a dog much like mine.
He actually has a sense of humor about his people as well. He brought back a box one day that was refused on delivery and told me they probably thought there was a bomb in the box.

Many of my Muslim friends manage to joke about religion and other things as well...
Over here....
In their nations it is somewhat different...

Saw a news article where they took over a town and had a dog hunt they k**led hundreds of dogs. They may think their dirty but they are vicious when you go after their family and they are great alarms to warn of danger Those are the down under reasons they don't like them

Dogs are considered dirty in Islam...
A Muslim may not touch one while fasting and must bath after contact to be considered clean...
Mohammed clearly stated that it was better to refrain from owning dogs or having contact with dogs unless necessary for work...

I personally feel there is something wired wrong about a person who doesn't like dogs. I currently have three rescues; a pit bull female, a mostly pit bull male, and a little Heinz 57 who was abandoned by some assholes who used to rent a house on my street.

I agree...
And it ran contrary to Arabic cultire at the time... But Mohammed made a number of proclamations that were based more on personal feelings at the time than sound reasoning...
As I recall the story his wife had had a dog (puppy) in her home and when he returned and learned of it he became enraged and declared that an Angel would never visit a house that had a dog..
It was bizarre... And led to a large number of his followers slaughtering their pets..
His Prohibition on alcohol began much the same way... It was allowed in the beginning...

If thats the report I think it is there were a bumch of strays and they were a hazard. How they eliminated them was not humane.
