Congress now has powers to investigate that the president cannot interfere with, interference would be grounds to impeach.

As in Nixon, as people learned more as the investigation revealed facts, public support for impeachment grew, that is what will happen here. People don't seem to be aware even that there is strong evidence in the unredacted parts of the Mueller report.
