Arizona Sheriff Blames Congress for Flow of Illegal Drugs
By David Jolly - May 20, 2019

I spent most of my life in Arizona. Over the years, I’ve been to many places throughout the state, including some that not many others visit. I’ve seen more than my share of i*****l a***ns and what they did to many communities, including the one where I lived and where my daughters safely grew up.

I’ve seen some communities in the southern part of the state that lived in fear of every stranger – white or Hispanic. They feared the illegal drug traffickers, the illegal human traffickers and they feared law enforcement. One family told me that whenever law enforcement came to their small town and began talking to people, that the drug traffickers knew and would come after law enforcement left and threaten them, sometimes by the example of violence upon someone they knew.

The fear of drug traffickers is so great that one rancher I used to know resorted to extreme measures for fear of the drug traffickers. He bought guard dogs, set up a perimeter alarm system with spot lights, slept with a loaded gun under his pillow and loaded guns positioned in every room of his ranch house, including the bathrooms. He even went so far as to send his wife and kids to live with relatives a couple hundred miles further north in the state, just to keep them safer.

When Jan Brewer was governor of Arizona, she regularly invited Barack Obama to come visit the border to see for himself the problems the state faced, but Obama refused, saying that there was no problem. Consequently, the state put up warning signs along some of the main highways in the southern part of the state, warning drivers of the danger of i******s.

A friend who used to be in law enforcement in Arizona, primarily in the Phoenix area, said that at least 75% of the crimes they faced were directly or indirectly related to i*****l a***ns and illegal drug trafficking and yet Obama and Democrats continued to contend there was no problem. In fact, the Obama DOJ took actions against then Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio to restrict him from enforcing i*********n l*ws or trying to take action to stop the flood of illegal drugs.

Many conservatives pleaded with Congress to do something to secure the border and stop the flood of drugs, but Democrats mostly and some RINO’s continue to say there is no problem and refuse to do anything to stem the flow of drugs and i******s.

Obama is no longer in the White House and in control of the DOJ, so one Arizona county sheriff is taking action on his own to try to stop the flood of illegal drugs over the border into and through his county, as reported:

“In Cochise County, Arizona, the land that runs along the border is dry, rugged and full of paths worn out by drug traffickers and human smugglers.” “For Sheriff Mark Dannels, the problem began when the U.S. government decided to build walls and push illegal traffic from cities into remote areas.”
“It turned his backyard into a highway for everything illegal that comes over the southern border. Until he decided that had to change.” "10 years ago you could sit out here at night and see the lights coming across the desert. You could see the smuggling coming through our mountains behind us’.”
“What they can see now is this: drugs being smuggled over the border and the men who bring them.”
“These photos were taken just weeks ago by cameras Dannels’ deputies have hidden all along the desolate frontline.” "We have 400 cameras out right now. By the end of the year, we’ll have 700. We’re watching all the smuggling trails. We’re watching our deserts. We’re watching the private lands’.”
“Dannels said every time an image is captured its sent to one of his deputies. That’s led to several arrests and what he claims to be a 100% conviction rate.” Dannels when on to describe many of the drug traffickers as wearing military camouf**ge uniforms and rags tied around their shoes so they don’t leave any traceable footprints.

Guess who Dannels blames for the flood of illegal drugs pouring over the border?

He stated:

"It’s irrelevant who the president is. Our congressional leaders will not secure this border. I put this squarely on their back. I don’t work for the people on Capitol Hill. I work for the people of Cochise County’.”

Yep, Sheriff Dannels puts the blame on members of Congress for failing to take action to secure the border. He didn’t specify which political party, indicating that it was Congress in general, both parties, who have failed to protect the American people.

Since most Democrats and some RINOs still claim that there is no problem at the border, I hope you remember this when you go to the polls to v**e. Make border security a high priority for who you v**e for. Border security is not just about drugs or i*****l a***ns, but about the very safety of tens of thousands of Americans who are victimized by the illegal drugs and i*****l a***ns.
