V******tions.
The latest issue of New American magazine has an excellent article on the subject of v******tions. If a copy of the magazine can be acquired, those interested in the subject will find it enlightening. Having read this piece, I would not put a child through the present requirements of being v******ted for any reason.
The report tells of conflicts of interests within the ranks of those who are supposed to ferret out the downside of v*****es. Also, the government has made the pharmaceutical companies judgment proof, they can't be sued for damages caused by a v*****e.
Does anyone remember being dosed with cod liver oil as a child? Cod liver oil is rich in vitamin A, a key vitamin that many who are vulnerable to measles lack.
Beg, borrow-or-steal a copy of the May Edition, New American. This article is a keeper for future reference when arguing one's case against having a child v******ted. And before anyone takes issue with what I've posted, read the article first.

Cod liver oil.....yuck. My folks tried to disguise it in the breakfast orange juice. Years after I left home I occasionally would taste that awful stuff in orange juice. There's a word for that sort of memory conditioning I forget what it is. Having revived that memory, you rascal, I'll probably taste that nasty oil in my orange juice tomorrow. 😬

LOL. Sorry about spoiling your orange juice, padre. I too endured it daily for many years, as a child. I had all the childhood diseases before v*****es came on the scene. However, one v******tion I did have, was the one that left a scar of our shoulder. However, I forget what that was supposed to prevent. Do you remember what it was for?

I have one of those small pox v******tions too. I too had mumps, measles, chicken pox and all those childhood diseases before v******tions.

Yes, our imagination is a powerful influence over our perception of all things; not just taste. That probably explains why some of us on OPP see one thing as an "answer all" and others see it as stupid. Some say "viva la difference" and others say difference can be the main cause of war between two people or between nations. I think it is both good and bad depending on each one's perception. That is why common sense and calmness is so important. May we all be blessed with patience when interacting with one another and respectful of their opinions.
Our perception of v******tions vary as to our experiences and the experiences of others witnessed by us. Again, some good some bad. An equally important question is, should this be a personal or government decision?

In 1960 child mortality was still 18.5%. Almost every 5th child born in that year died in childhood. Over the last decades we have seen a very rapid decline of child mortality globally. In 2015 child mortality was down to 4.3% – 10-fold lower than 2 centuries ago. How many parents would complain that their child survived?

We the people created our government, the government didn't create us. Quarantine is okay for a short period of time due to an outbreak of a disease. But no to forced v******tions. I loved cod liver oil, Brussel sprouts, not so much.

So did I. We be showing our age.

Richard, I will ask you again: is the article titled "straight talk about v******tions?"

The title is, "Forced V******tions." Not only is the v*****e problem discussed the piece also focuses on the government's role in attempting to force parents to v******te. I found it interesting that in New York, the Hasidic Jewish community is refusing to v******te.
Perhaps they know something the rest of us should be aware of.
Just found out there was an outbreak of measles at one of the junior highschools in our city....
Seems like a number of students weren't v******ted. .
