I just read this, I am conflicted. On one hand I feel, as I should, sorry for the death of a child. But, on the other hand, it seems that the young lady made excuses for herself, her own destructive behavior, and placed the blame with everyone she knew. In situations like this, she needed professional help, not more parties where she could see herself as the victim. Where were her parents? Did they not see the warning signs, changes in mood? Seems to me, but this is just a mother.... but, she was more than just depressed. I am sure there must be more to this story, or perhaps I am overlooking a critical element.
