Meetings with foreign leaders has as a rule been conducted with fully "chaparoned" staffs, and have comprehensive records written up about what took place... especially the critical ones such as with Putin and Kim. This is actually for the president's safety and integrity so that everything was witnessed and other leaders can't represent things said or promises made that weren't.
All official business is typically documented and notes are taken. Visitors doing business sign in, Trump ended the official recording of appointments. Mar A Lago is billed as a place for official business, yet visitors foreign and domestic are not signed in and recorded.
The EPA and interior departments have heads that want business kept secret, for scientists to change their reports and reflect their conflicts of interest with oil and chemical companies. These are agencies that have a job and responsibility to people, not businesses. Their business is illegal when it comes to doing things that serve the interests of businesses. Trump's new interior head is under investigation two weeks into his job.
