Nothing like Reagan, Bumpkinfuhrer, not even close. DeNiro won two oscars and a host of other lesser awards for playing roles as crime bosses, psychopaths and tough guys.
Ronald Reagan never won any awards for acting. He never played the role of a bad guy. He was a liberal democrat when he became the president of the Screen Actor's Guild. That was the beginning of his political career. His work with General Electric's vice president of labor and community relations converted him to the conservative POV.
The Gipper had more heart, brain and soul under his little toenail than DeNiro has had his entire life.
