A great man who Added to the knowledge of our species...
Who could ask for more?
How do we know if he was right or wrong? Facetiously speaking.
Old Johannes got it wrong. Earth is much older than that.
I have had discussions with friends about the true interpretation of the first chapter of Genesis. We covered the idea that there could be an unknown amount of time between the first verse and the second verse. Or that the first verse could be like a declaration of things to come almost or like a title of a story.
That being said, I think it is interesting to note that in the referenced article you gave share there is mention that, in the time of Kepler, it was observed that the planets appear to orbit the sun in an ellipse instead of a given radius from the sun. This stands out to me because, given enough time, an orbiting object could begin in an elliptical orbit but would ultimately spin into a set radius away from the center point of rotation.
I make note of this because it substantiates a concept that the age of the solar system could be younger than commonly accepted as millions or billions of years old. The 'billions of years old earth' theory is a must for those who stand on the theory of evolution as described by Darwin as factual t***h.

I figure that if God went through all that trouble to make us smart enough to develop Carbon14 dating and left geologic evidence then we damn well better believe he had a good reason for us to believe it all.

Carbon14 dating has been found to only be adequate for dating things to around 48000BC . . . anything older than that carbon14 is not adequate.
The Greek T***slation of the first five books of Moses ordered by Ptolomey Philadelphia, one of the four generals of Alexander the Great and ruler of his conquered Egyptian territory, in circa 280 B.C. stood as the accurate read of the old version of the Hebrew Bible. The later Aramaic version was not t***slated by Masoretic t***slators who added vowel points to what they thought was the correct pronouncement of a word (the old language was all consonants), approximately 1000 years later. This makes it a t***slation of the Septuagint Jesus and Paul read about 750 before these guys were alive. What do I mean to say by giving you this info? According to the more accurate t***slation of the original "Hebrew," you are going to need to add 650 years to the chronology of the lives of the patriarchs listed from the time of Noah to Abraham making the fact of mankind's existence 5520 years and not the accepted King Jame's "Ussher Chronology" date.
The Jewish Rabbis today do not accept the Greek T***slation because it does not include any passage of Scripture stating that the seventy elders who went with Moses to the foot of Mt. Sinai to receive instructions from God directly. The Septuagint and all of the copies of it that followed throughout the centuries show in these passages that Moses alone received the Law directly from "Ha Shem" (the Name of God). These seventy elders received only what Moses gave them. The Rabbis have no Biblically legal right to put themselves in "the seat of Moses"(Matthew 23).

Who cares. Compared to eternity it's all just a mist in the wind.

I found it amusing. Kepler, a man honored for his contributions to astronomy, who could legitimately be considered one of the fathers of modern astronomy for his work in advancing the science also advanced this theory.

Who cares?!? There are a lot of people that care about anything that disturbs their way of thinking or their way of life!
Darwinian evolutionists care . . . flat-earthers care . . . those that would never believe the Bible as t***h care . . . !
"...Who cares?..." could well be the stupidest question/comment of this Topic!!!
