This is an interesting tell of the Tea Party Patriot status right now.

McConnell's opponent beat himself. I hope this is not an indicator.

The Republican party used the teabaggers like toilet paper and now having done their job they are being flushed. The only question now is if the republicans over did it and the GOP toilet will back up and overflow with all of the teabagger crap. They better hope they have a mop!

I think you are right and it will either be boost to the establishment or a wake up call for the Patriots. Follows the adage that nothing is certain but death and taxes.

Kevyn,

It looks like the John Birch Society 2.0 (the Tea Party, funded by the Koch brothers) has turned out to be every bit as much of a bust as JBS 1.0, funded by their daddy in the 1950s. Looks like, in this family, greed and political stupidity are genetic.

I think it is. The teaparty is always looking for the most radical to run for office. V**ers don't like that.

So the Liberals see this as a tell the Patriots are winning because they've caused McConnell and the GOP to shift right.

While moderates see this as a huge victory and worry about the next step.
