Trump's Comment on Julian Assange

Clearly feeling the pressure from his many supporters who sympathize with Assange, President Trump told reporters in the White House press pool that "I know nothing about Wikileaks. It's not my thing."

MY COMMENT: C'Mon Mr. President - Talk about being disingenuous! Did you forget about your earlier tweets below!

Of course, then-candidate Trump praised Wikileaks repeatedly during the campaign after it released several tranches of emails purportedly stolen from the DNC and Clinton campaign manager John Podesta (his son also purportedly exchanged Twitter messages with the group).

Wh**ever happens next will be up to the attorney general.

Meanwhile, Assange supporters took to twitter to remind the president of his support for the organization during the campaign. Sean Hannity, a Fox News host with whom Trump has a close relationship, once even offered to have Assange host his show.

Trump doesn't know anything about Wiki leaks. He doesn't know how its run, who the internal players are, what their agenda is, what fallback plans they have or wh**ever motivated the key players to get secrets or publish.

Stop hunting for things to tease out of his statements. Trump isn't responsible for Wikileaks and he doesn't know any more than the rest of about what they are doing.

When a reporter asks him a question like that Trump is going to respond that he doesn't know anything more than anyone else.
By simply answering the question one shouldn't tease an entire plethora of evil motives from him, even if it suits your agenda.

I don't know anything about the traffic light at the end of my block. How it operates, who controls it, where the wiring goes and comes from.

I obey the signal like everyone else. Just because I went through the intersection it is not fair to say I "know" about the inner workings of the street light.

Stopb throwing dirt to see what sticks. I'm tired of people who see Trump misdeeds under every rock and behind every shadow.

But what a clever way to impute to the media and biased members of the public that anything Trump says can be restated in the negative.

I am getting anti Trump fatigue. If Trump shot someone on Fifth avenue, the news reports would be only slightly less sensational and tabloid than they are now.

Its Trump Derangement Syndrome. Cmon if he knew anything about wiki leaks than anyone else or had some involvement in it, they would have published the anti Hillary stuff much earlier.

Trump doesn't know about rainbows or how to cause cancer or have the answer to life's core philosophical questions. Why not " doubt" his statements on that?
.Because it doesn't suit your narrative.

Ever wonder why the DOJ, FBI or anyone from the Mueller investigation never questioned Assange about how he got all of the emails he released? I believe it was Seth Rich and it got him k**led!!!

I respectfully disagree with you Tom. Look, it's really quite simple. You don't need to make this into rocket science. Julian Assange is a journalist, and exposes stories that the main stream media will not cover since their corporate ownership (I think it is now about 9 mega corporations) has ties to the military industrial security state governmental complex. They do not like it when their nefarious deeds are brought to light. War crimes (reported by Chelsea Manning), HRC email coverup and rigging the DNC against Bernie Sanders have pissed off a lot of powerful people. They want to get rid of an annoyance like Wikileaks, and silencing Julian Assange is their goal. Are you telling me that President Trump is stupid and does not understand these things? Trump will face a lot of pressure from those within his own party, the war mongers in the military, and the bad actors in the NSA and CIA who like to spy on all Americans, and get the dirt on politicians, and anyone else that they can compromise to do their bidding. That my friend is the sorry situation that we find ourselves in, and that is why we must not remain silent on this issue.

Trump knows better. The question is whether he will show the moral fiber to stand up to those forces aligned against him on this issue and pardon Assange. It will take political capital to do so. The jury remains out on this point.

You missed misunderstood the point I was trying to make. I believe there was no hacking in this case.
What I have read is the volume of data could not be t***smitted via hacking. It had to be directly taken from a DNC computer, like maybe by a thumb drive from Seth Rich!
.
I actually agree with almost everything you said in your statement. Our government is beyond corrupt.

I'll support the President if he pardons Assange. We have a right to know when our government is deceiving us.
