If the Forbidden Fruit comes from the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil, what comes from the tree of life? Something different, yes?

What could it be? I would love to hear from you about the fruit of the tree of life. Morality are principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behavior. The Bible treats that as Forbidden Fruit. Why? Everybody, no matter how pure or twisted their ideas or beliefs of what good and evil mean, base their lives on it. Yet it seems as humans, we should never have tasted it. How else are we to live?

The answer is in Genesis. Are you questioning God’s wisdom and mercy in limiting how long Adam and Eve lived after they had fallen? Would you want to live forever in the flesh?

No, I am not questioning anything of faith; why would you think that? I was giving an opportunity for anyone to talk about what comes from the tree of life, and how that has helped in their faith.

I meant to edit that reply - my mistake for not doing so. Please disregard that question. Not one of my better mornings....

I look forward to getting the answers to many questions one day.

rumi,

I'm a little late to this party, but I've been glancing at this question of yours for days because it appears to be so straight forward (self evident).

God has clearly answered this question in Scripture.

The fruit of the tree of life is eternal life.

There are two separate trees: 1) the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, of which Adam and Eve partook, receiving a conscience in return, which all humankind is now born with, and
2) the tree of life, of which they were not allowed to partake.

After Adam and Eve, in direct disobedience to God's instructions, partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they immediately knew they were naked. They had received a sense of self-awareness (a conscience) to know right from wrong, so they created for themselves coverings of woven fig leaves.

This was not satisfactory to God, for sin had been committed by their disobedience, and He performed the first shedding of blood as a sacrifice by killing animals and making clothing to cover Adam and Eve from their skins.

"Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil. And now, lest he reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever.”

Therefore the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken." (Genesis 3:22-23)

God who created humankind empowered each individual at birth with the gift of a mind and the ability to learn.

Since the fall of Adam and Eve, by eating of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, just as God said in Genesis 3:22, and confirmed in Romans 2:15, all mankind is now born with an innate conscience informing if a deed is proper to do, or is to be avoided (the knowledge of good and evil).

"They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right." (Romans 2:15)

We form our own morality each time we either obey or ignore what our conscience is telling us.

How are we then to live? Very carefully, i.e., with due diligence before God.
