Simple question. The president wants nearly 6 billion dollars to build a wall when the crisis at the border has to do with immigrants legally seeking asylum. Am I the only one who sees a red herring for what it is? How is one supposed to stop the other?

The wall will help to channel them towards points of entry.... It will also prevent those who know they would not qualify for asylum from crossing illegally...
Hope you are well this day Peter...

They are supposed to seek asylum at the first country they enter. If they pass through Mexico without doing so they become invaders and must be stopped. That is where the wall comes in.

It will also stop illegal scumbags hurling rocks at Border Patrol Agents and hurting them....And that's what this Barrier would also do!!

They are at ports of entry. They haven't crossed the border but are waiting to be legally processed. As for the wall, what's to prevent them from digging under it or using ladders from going over it?

So we are supposed to spend 8 billion dollars for a rock barrier? Gosh, we should have thought of that long ago...

Thank you for that sensible answer. Those trying to jump the Southern Boarder, are no different than the migrants in Europe who cross country, after country, after country until they arrive where the biggest welfare teat is located. It is the same here in this country. Why would any sane nation want to take in ill educated, poor down and out individuals who really have no sk**ls, no education, nothing to suggest that they have something of value to add to our country. The whole thing is they want to attach themselves to that great teat and spend the rest of their lives sucking the lives out of those of us who pay the taxes that that provide this "milk of human kindness." Do we not, as a country, have more than a plenty of individuals who are in want already in this country? I think so, we don't need to take in all the indigent people of Central American countries.

What it won't do is stop people from seeking asylum which is the crisis we currently have at our southern border. If you aren't willing to address the problem as our southern border why are you asking for money for a wall?

It won't. It will stop border-jumpers of
wh**ever stripe, however. How hard is that?

A process is involved! I think we're getting pieces of the whole story! Very good...!

OK...lets begin at the beginning! What do we do first?
Again...very good! Maybe we'll not be spinning our wheels!
