It's a matter of perspective

I hear phrases such as "America is the greatest country in the world" and that POTUS is "the leader of the free world", and other equally grandiose phrases - but- are they really true? Ask any American and they will confirm that these sentiments are absolutely true, but ask someone from another country, and you'll get a different answer. Having spent my formative years in a foreign country, I know how others view the United States, it's people, it's government and it's policies. I wouldn't want to live anywhere but here, just like others, but that doesn't mean that I refuse to see the for realz about my country.

People from other countries watch how we treat each other, how we relate to others outside our borders, and how we solve problems ( or don't solve them ). The fact is; we don't practice what we preach, and everyone but us knows it. How can a Nation speak about human rights, while ignoring such in their own country? Easy, it's a "do as I say, not as I do" scenario. For decades upon decades, the USA has thrown it's weight all over the place, trying to mold other countries behaviors, sometimes successfully.............but there have been far more failures than successes.

The t***h is, whether we choose to see it or not, the rest of the world is not nearly as enamored of America and Americans, as we are of ourselves. There are plenty of countries that will blow smoke up POTUS ass, and other politicians and staffers, to get their hands on US dollars, or get the US to support their own political agenda. When foreigners see us slaughtering each other wholesale, they don't care to hear us preach to them about human rights. They'll pretend to listen, of course, if there will be a check offered afterwards.

To be the leader of the free world, the USA must LEAD.............by example...............not by threats or bribes. Our perspective of ourselves is damn near delusional, when compared to the rest of the worlds perspective, because we are blind to our own faults. America could become the greatest Nation on earth again, but only if we get real about who we are and our place in the world...............the "greatest generation" is about all gone......................................and we dropped the ball...................we're content to bask in the glory they earned with their blood, sweat and tears.......... without doing any of the work necessary to maintain that greatness. It's all a matter of perspective.

A very accurate description of a profoundly important subject.

If anyone is interested in bringing the US position on the Ukraine into this discussion I would have a contribution to make concerning the recent e******ns which indicates a pivot of Ukrainian foreign policy East, a complete rejection of US associations.

You must be right. Consider that anytime a calamity of nature occurs any place on earth the first to respond with help is America. Yet anyone recall how often any nation sent aid to us for any of our many natural disasters? Obviously they don't like us huh? Not that long ago one third of all people in the world were held under the murderous yoke of c*******m. America broke that yoke yet today young Americans are being joyfully led into socialism by other Americans who also dislike America. If I lived in another country and listened to the rhetoric on race in America I too would believe Americans, specifically w***e A******ns, were the most r****t people in the world. It'd patently not true. It's political rhetoric generated successfully by the left to create division and class warfare amongst us but it played out on the world stage. I'm inclined to believe that our public persona to the nation's of the world is an unintended consequences of an intentional h**eful attack on that traditional America that more than once saved the world: an attack by Progressives and their control over the media to effect a t***sformational change within America. Hysterical claims were made that American Border Agents "rip children out of the arms of their mothers." A lie generated as political rhetoric and again presented to the world to diminish Trump and give sympathy to i*****l i*********n. A******nist, however, do rip children out of the wombs of their mothers but in America this is a "right." America, instead of selling our food to starving nations at a profit, taught them how to feed themselves. The people hurt? The American farmer. The entire free world lives under the protection of our nuclear umbrella yet contributes nothing to our sustaining an effective military. There are so many good things to say about America but the thing that once made us great, our people, is now the very thing that is d**gging us down. We can no longer produce a people like the "greatest generation" and currently 75% of our youth are ineligible mentally, morally and physically for military service. We're the largest consumer of illegal drugs in the world the political answer, of course, is to begin to legalize them. Wow! Perhaps it might reduce the violence in Chicago and other urban communities and present a better, not so violent, picture to the world. Materialism has become America's god and the single measure of success. "Stuff." America is easy for the nation's of the world to criticize because they know we won't retaliate for words Spoken and will rush to help or defend them when needed. The good we've done far outweighs our errors.

The one thing that world really holds against us, and the major cause for their dislike, is because we've done so much for them. We never asked for gratitude but we sure as blazes do not deserve their disdain and neither should our own people add their voice to the world's discontent. MAGA.

WELL SAID, padremike...bravo for standing up for our country!!!

I would like to add one thing to your amazing post: Keep in mind that the world outside of America is mostly being fed the l*****t hogwash that our biased, left Main Stream Media dishes out. They don't understand that most of what they are hearing is false propaganda....f**e news.

Please clarify, validate and restate what you meant by saying,"Tell me, during these natural disasters and what not, do you recall what OTHER countries stepped up ( and are still stepping up ) to help? No, of course not, they don't matter."

Obviously you know something of other nations rushing to our aid when we have natural disasters I'm not familiar with. Ah! It's all those i*****l a***ns crashing our border coming to our aid isn't it. I guess I never realized their intent. Lol.

Sorry if I offended you but I guess that how an American Nationalist affects a G*******ts......if that's what you are.

Sorry, glasses that distort reality are authorized only for Progressives. Excuse me, but you failed to clarify, validate, and restate coherently a statement you made that was indecipherable. Maybe you forgot or maybe you couldn't figure it out either.
