I would rather, trump did not appoint people who can not get a security clearance, like all of his family of crooks.

The only reason there was a delay in the granting of Kushner's security clearance is there was an attempt to derail it for political reasons. Nothing was found in his background which would cause a denial of a security clearance at any level. The complaint was that since he was a businessman, he COULD use classified info to his benefit. So could almost anyone. In fact, that some people HAVE done so, is the reason Trump wanted certain clearances revoked. To say Kushner could, is not good enough. There must be at least something to indicate he would be likely to do so.

Well guess what, Mr. Mold, Donald Trump is the President of the United States, the Leader of the Free World, et cetera. The people involved in issuing security clearances all work for people who are Cabinet members who, in turn, work directly for the president. That's President Trump. If the president feels that a member of his staff needs immediate access, it's his prerogative to make that decision, the same as it is to declare a national emergency.

Barack Obama took a whole lot more executive liberties during his eight years and there wasn't a peep from the left, so cut out the double standards, this belief you people seem to have that unlike past presidents, this one is obligated to have everything he does micromanaged by his political opponents and his power curtailed simply because those opponents want to see him fail, even if it does harm to America and the American people.

Trump attends near daily briefings, despite what the MSM wants you to believe. Unlike some past presidents, he doesn't just sit and listen to the briefings but actually engages and digs deeper.

Pompeo said that Trump is usually briefed in the presence of National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, a professional briefer, a CIA officer, Vice President Mike Pence (when he is town) and Pompeo himself. The p**********l briefing has not historically been a group activity, but this practice can pay significant dividends. For one thing, multiple participants hailing from different walks of life usually means multiple perspectives and avoidance of groupthink. Pompeo noted that at times Trump engages in a “rambunctious back-and-forth” with his national security team over intelligence in the report. This suggests that briefing participants are challenging each other on the intelligence—whether related to assumptions underpinning assessments, the degree to which intelligence analysis comports with their personal views, relevance to the president’s agenda or other factors. That is a healthy phenomenon. At the end of the day, intelligence is meant to produce sound policy making on priority issues, and that can happen only if it is discussed and evaluated among senior leadership.

These sessions at times result in questions that are sent to the intelligence community for responses. Pompeo noted, for instance, that the president was at one point dissatisfied with the information he was receiving on the dire condition of Yemeni citizens and requested more specifics on the situation. It took several iterations of question and answer with intelligence analysts before he was content. Again, the process is supposed to play out in this way. Intelligence is inherently ambiguous, and asking follow-up questions indicates that the president and his team are not simply glossing over details or overlooking gaps in knowledge. Instead, the president is tasking the briefer to dig deeper and determine whether the information exists somewhere within the intelligence community or if new collection and analysis are required.

Pompeo also mentioned that the briefing is divided into “three buckets”: timely pieces that pertain to daily events, upcoming events over days or weeks, and “knowledge-building” items. Knowledge-building refers to strategic topics that the president should be considering in the background as he makes decisions on world affairs. It is always a good idea to arrange the book this way, and, given that the organization of this intelligence report is a p**********l prerogative, here too the process suggests reasons to feel encouraged. Trump and his staff clearly believe the administration should be thinking strategically.

Kushner had to redo his paperwork 50 times because he kept leaving out foreign contacts. His shady business dealings with the Saudis and Russians will always keep him from getting clearance. Even with trumps help, he could not get the to clearance.

The MSM has been desperate since the e******n to find ways to disparage him. The security reports were not dumbed down. But Trump asked the needless wordiness be made concise. That is NOT being dimbed down. And that he holds a group discussion over the items in the reports, points to the OPPOSITE of dumbing it down!

Either that, or they just don't read Hammer & Sickle Daily or "Destroy America At All Costs! Journal," or wh**ever it is you read.
