How to spot a Charlatan:

A Charlatan was actually in the ancient days of Orthodox Christianity. It was the sellers of indulgences, or Promises beyond the grave, for the soul purpose of money. Those who purchased them however, believed it. The most frequent buyers back then were the Soldiers of the ancient Crusades, worried about dying. The Orthodox higher-arche sent monks out amongst the ancient Germanic tribes, claiming the Church had power over the soul beyond the grave, and told of horrifying things that could happen after death. The ancient Germanic peoples were superstitious as it was, and became converted members fast. This added to the numbers for the Church.
You know, St. Peters Basilica was built solely by the Churches sale of indulgences. The first Orthodox Church also claim to have been 'given' the Holy Spirit by the Apostle Peter, and that he was the first Pope.
I doubt that Peter knew these claims took place after his own death. However, that is what instilled the Supremacy of the Orthodox Church.
The Holy Spirit rests upon whom God sends it, not the claims of man.

So, how do you spot a Charlatan in the World today?
Well, first you need to develop an understanding of the Lord's Gospels, and in the Lord himself. And I mean reading for yourself, not getting the Word second hand. Listen to your own voice inside as you read, opening your heart to what it says. This creates a dwelling place in the Heart for the Holy Spirit to begin it's work.

Then have Trust and Confidence in your Lord and Savior in what you know, and when you speak it to others.
When the Spirit of our Lord God enters into a room of people to talk of the Lord, 'Believe Me' the devil, or so called Satan, will begin acting out against you. Murmuring (whispering), will take a stand against you. Will ultimately begin "accusing" you, as that is what Satan does best.

If your faith begins to faulter, your heart and soul will get wounded. Remain in your Trust and Confidence, and you will know when to leave so the Spirit of God can continue his work.
There is no confusion in the Word and Spirit of God, you have to Trust in the Lord.

Again, the only one who can see and expose the works of the Devil is the Light that enters into a darkness. Through the Lord, You cannot miss the works of darkness.
If you yourself does not feel a strong enough Faith to speak to people with yet, then stand to assist if there is one who does.
There are many Charlatans out there today, pushing perverted doctrines and gospels. A few of them, to gain your money.

Great topic, as to finding the f**e, the holy spirit will help us decern if we are in fellowship with the Lord. We are instructed to test all things by Gods word, " for if any man teach a gospel other than what I have taught you (John), let him be accursed. So our first test is the deity of Christ (who is God). There are many cults which are people polarized around one mans opinion of the Bible, such as Jehovah witness, mormons
Scientology, reverend Moon, Bahia, and many more that don't pass Gods word of saving grace, the deity, and surrounded by a man. Then not always so obvious on the surface cults, those with i***t such as Islam, budda, Hinduism, and many more. Many of these profess Jesus Christ and there teaching can send you right to hell.

Again, thanks for the post and truly enjoy the historic reference

I haven't, actually. In the book I wrote is a section called "Wisdom of Revelation." In the interpretation of Revelation, which is the growth, spread, and persecutions of the Christian Faith through two thousand years, since Lord's Ministry and Sacrifice:

In Revelation chapter 16 is this:
"13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the d**gon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
"14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Interpretation:
v.13 The ancient Orthodox Church finally split into three sections: the Greek Orthodox, Gregorian (or Armenian) Orthodox, and the Roman Catholic.
Before WWII, the three evil spirits culminated into N**i Germany, Italy (allied to Germany), and Islamic Turkey.
v.14 The miracles are of the Dictating power of Man, and evil persuasions.

In Revelation, the mouth of the 'D**gon' refers to the Herod family, and Herodians of Jesus time descending from Esau (Edomites), and the ancient Babylonians, or Chaldeans, that had mixed their way into the Jewish Bloodlines in order to pervert and Dictate. Old King Herod the Great is who attempted to k**l baby Jesus, slaughtering hundreds of innocent little ones "The Great Red D**gon". (Esau means Red). It was those Jews, descendants of the D**gon, of who Jesus states "call themselves Jews, but are not." that were Marked for annialation in WWII. "Not The Jews We Have Today."
Beast is referring a Dictator. Just like the very ancient Tyrannical Monsters of the First World that ate anything in their path.
The false prophet, Islam's Muhammad.

v19, " And the great city was divided into three parts, ...."
Interpretation: Jerusalem finally fell into three different religions: Christian, Jewish, and Islamic. (v.21 makes reference to modern day "war" )

Back to the ancient Orthodox Church:

"11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a d**gon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed." Revelation 13.

Interpretation:
v.11-12. This is actually describing a Papal Crown, being look at sideways. Why sideways? Because scripture is actually "Profiling" it for us. The ancient Orthodox Church, even after it split, practiced P********a. The ancient Romans had house-boys, which was a way of life for them. However, the ancient Church simply continued it in secret, all though condemned in Scripture by our Lord God.

When Jesus was on the cross, he asked God his Father to "Forgive those who know not what they do." He was not talking about the evil Priests, as they knew exactly what they were dong. He was talking about the Gentile Soldiers of Rome, who were following orders and knew nothing of who Jesus was.
"6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends." Zechariah 13.
The Gentiles, adopted into the Blood of Jesus Christ by "Faith," as we do not share in the blood and DNA of Abraham. (He didn't have a child by a gentile woman).
So the leaders and figure heads of the ancient Orthodox Churches cause the people to worship the Roman Empire which was the foundation of Orthodox.

Not only was P********a their only grievous sin, but ancient monestaries have been found with new-born human infant skeletal remains bricked or cemented into the walls, from the Nuns and Priests.
These Orthodox churches were not just the reigning religion of the land, but they were the Government as well. Same thing as Islam. (Scorpions and Locusts). They both k**led and murdered innocent thousands/millions through their time. Their own people.
In scripture it states that the Lamb with Horns made an "Image" to the Beast. That would be Charlemagne. The Pope crowned Charlemagne as the Emperor of "the dictating Rome Empire," for what was left of it. All subjects of Charlemagne had to bow down before him, and kiss the ground before his feet. Fact.

Our Lord and Savior states not to put new wine in an old wine skin, least the new wine rend the old wine skin.
Why would Christians bring the Old Orthodox methods, any of them, into a Land of Freedom and Liberty. Freedom to read and learn our Lord's Word without the plagued foundations of ancient religion past? We have already seen the faces of the people today, that have been molested and raped by the practices of that old religion brought forward.
