Lindsey Graham Asks: Was the Mueller Probe a Ploy to Spy on Trump?

After nearly two years, the Mueller probe has finally come to an end. The investigation sparked countless, baseless allegations from the left. Much to their chagrin, these accusations have been put to rest. At least, they should be.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller was clear in his findings. There was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 e******n cycle. Now, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, is vowing to investigate whether the Mueller probe’s purpose was to actually spy on the 45th President of the United States.

During a press conference on Capitol Hill on March 25, 2019, Graham announced that he will investigate abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, FISA, at the beginning of the Russia probe. The Senator also asked Attorney General Bill Barr to select a new special counsel to look into the “other side of the story.” According to Fox News, Graham stated he plans to probe any misconduct regarding the Russia investigation by the FBI, the Justice Department, and Democrats. But, because of “the emotional nature of this,” he thinks a new appointment needs to occur.

“I’d like to find somebody, like a Mr. Mueller, that can look into what happened with the FISA warrants, the counterintelligence investigation,” Graham told reporters. “Am I right to be concerned? It seems pretty bad on its face, but there are some people that are never going to accept the Mueller report, but by any reasonable standard, Mueller thoroughly investigated the Trump campaign. You cannot say that about the other side of the story.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman went on to say, “I hope Mr. Barr will appoint somebody outside the current system to look into these allegations, somebody we all trust, and let them do what Mueller did.”

The Senator from South Carolina maintained that he’s been asking for the appointment of an additional special counsel since 2017 to probe “whether or not a counterintelligence investigation was opened as a back door to spy on the Trump campaign.” He remarked, “A counterintelligence investigation is designed to protect the entity being targeted by a foreign power…I still am at a loss as to why nobody went to President Trump to tell him.”

According to Fox News, “Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz is currently investigating any alleged misconduct related to FISA warrants delivered from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC). The Justice Department and FBI obtained warrants in 2016 to surveil Trump adviser Carter Page.” However, no one knows the status of the probe or when it will conclude. Graham contended the reasoning of his panel’s investigation into suspected FISA abuses stems from the unverified anti-Trump dossier and the role it had. The Senator wants to know if the dossier was “supplemental or outcome determinative.”

“Was it a ruse to get into the Trump campaign?” the South Carolina senator asked, adding, “I don’t know, but I’m going to try to find out.”

“I have been talking since 2017 about the other side of the story. Nobody much appears to care, but I hope you will find some interest now,” he said.

Graham maintained that he wants to know how much cash the Democrats paid Fusion GPS for the dossier. He also wishes to determine if its contents have been substantiated.

Trump’s former foe turned ally promised to summon Barr to testify about the Mueller report. He also hinted that he might call on disgraced former FBI Director James Comey and Justice Department official Bruce Ohr to speak before his committee. Graham’s remarks came after he responded to a tweet from Comey, which included a picture of him standing in the woods while gazing up at some giant trees. The tweet read, “So many questions.” Graham teasingly responded, “Could not agree more. See you soon.”

You have to ask yourself if the left was so wrapped up for over 2 years to find out whether the Russians were trying to influence our e******ns, why would they not want to find out whether someone closer to home might be trying the same thing. Maybe they don't care if their folks are doing it.

You are so right. If it is the "Progressives" doing it, it is fine as it leads to a world wide socialist government but if those who are free market capitalists and Christians are doing it or more likely just stopping the spread of Marxist Socialist, then the threat to world wide socialist domination is being slowed down, a threat to the left that they will do ANYTHING to stop.
