The adagio in G Minor. All of life is there. My copy did not work. For your soul, find it and listen. It is the score behind the movie "Gallipoli."

I will search for the music. I consider 'Gallipoli' to be my favorite Mel Gibson movie. I have not seen it for years, and can't remember the score. If I'm not mistaken the movie came out either late 70s or early 80s.

1981. Not memory, looked it up. The first time I heard this piece I was totally overwhelmed and each time it is the same. Could hardly move leaving the theater after "Gallipoli."

I was totally devastated by the ending of the film. One of the greatest movies ever made about the senselessness of war, although the relationship between Archie and Frank was memorable in itself. It brought back back both the joy of military friendships, and the pain of losing some of those friends. I was not comfortable, afterwards.

I could not bring myself to move for a good while after everyone else had left the theater.

Very nicely put, yes, all those things in that movie. Thank you about reminding me of its real import. Heroism is not all it purports to be is that flick...or in real life.
