McCain graduated 894th in a class of 899 at the US Naval Academy.
He barely passed flight school. And then he crashed two airplanes and damaged a third. In the U.S. Navy, for a pilot to crash one plane was pushing it. To crash two often resulted in an official investigation to determine if he should be taken off flight status. How did he get away with destroying three planes? Oh yeah, his father was an Admiral.
He got himself shot down by disobeying a direct order from his commanding officer. His plane was targeted by the enemy and he was ordered to begin evasive maneuvers, but no - he decided to continue on his own to blow up a building...and his plane got hit by the enemy's missile. He ejected from his plane the wrong way out of ignorance, and broke both arms and a leg doing so.
McCain was an arrogant, party-loving snob who used his father's influence to get him out of trouble time and time again. He was not a "war hero" - he was an a**hole.

Yes and hopefully we'll still be teaching the T***h about Benedict Arnold. I thought you folks on the Left were overly concerned about Trump's morality yet your new hero, John McCain, divorced his wife while she was dying with cancer, and married a wealthy socialite. Her money helping his political campaign.

I believe Newt's dying wife was supportive of his finding someone to care for him after she was gone. If that is true, her love for him was very great. John McCain was different. His wife suffered a horrible auto accident, was crippled, raised three small children all while he was a prisoner. When he came home he ended up divorcing her and married a wealthy woman 18 years younger than himself. He chose Sarah Palin as a running mate and then years later blamed her for his loss. His negative deciding v**e on Obamacare was pure, unadulterated vindictiveness against Trump. Finally the grandiose funeral he personally planned speaks loudly to his profound narcissism. That's John McCain to me.
