Christianity predates Catholicism. That is a fact. She isn't attacking faith she is sharing truth as Christ told us to do.

I'm sorry that your prejudice blinds you to the Truth that the first Pentecost was the birthday of the Christian Church and that Church was one, holy, catholic and apostolic. I posted a short portion of St. Vincent's comments on what the word "catholic" meant earlier knowing it was a total waste of time. Thinking Christians want a catholic faith; thinking people want valid authority for their church not what any Tom, Dick and Harry comes along with a new idea. But you're absolutely free to believe anything you want. We can all be wrong, we cannot all be right. Me, I'll choose the ancient over the modern.

padre,

I'm so sorry, but you really don't get a choice how Jesus structures His ekklesia, His called out congregation, His church which came into existence on the first Pentecost.

His church was not subject to early wannabees or first controllers, clothed in elaborate embroidered gowns.

Their monolithic structures do not represent the church of Jesus Christ.

Is it possible that the "thinking people" to whom you alude are not thinking at all?

The church of Jesus Christ is subject only to Jesus, ruled on earth through the Holy Spirit who indwells all born-again believers.

Christians understand that little "c" catholic means universal, i.e., worldwide.

Christianity cannot sit still and contemplate the past.

Jesus told Nicodemus:

"Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit.
Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’
The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound,
but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going.
So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:6-8)

Jesus has given us a great commission.

I'll comment enmasse after everyone has taken a shot. You can't even tell the Truth on what little "c" catholic means and that's because you will not understand.

Don’t go down that road again Radiance. You’ve posted that many, many times. No one ever said there weren’t corrupt pastors as there are corrupt priests, bishops, cardinals, mullahs and any other religious organization’s leader. No organized religion is free from corruption.

No need to wait. Zemirah got the meaning of ‘catholic’ right with regards to Christianity. Its simple to understand. You can tell us the Catholic or orthodox version of its meaning.

99.5% of Priests have vowed self-sacrifice. The .o5% were mistakenly hired but they belong to the LGBT and had ruined the reputation of the rests of the self-sacrificing priests who vowed to serving the Lord.

Most priests have very limited means on their finances, the fact that they are paid minimum of $3,000/mo. barely enough for their apartment rent, their food, and medical, and miscellaneous needs.

There are thousands of priests sent to the 3rd world countries to help the poor people. They build schools for the children, provide medical care, help them build their own homes, and water supplies. They also teach the natives modern system of agriculture so that they could harvest more to feed their people.

There were times, that they were killed by Muslims, after the priests have helped them.
These are facts. I've seen some of them on these sacrificing conditions. But they don't complain but trust the Lord.
