At this point Trump is weakened, looks foolish and guilty and is constantly on the defensive. There is a good chance that if Trump is impeached and resigns Pence would give him a pardon. Personally I think that the pathetic pardon of Nixon allowed he and his accomplices to work at rehabilitating a very crooked history. A public trial of Trump for several felonies would serve notice for the next criminal thinking about running for high office.
