Generation Z and millennials are embracing socialistic policies and principles

A new Harris/Axios Poll shows Generation Z and millennials are embracing socialistic policies and principles more than ever.

Young Americans are trapped with insurmountable amounts of debt, low-paying gig-economy jobs, and priced out of starter homes, so they have to rent, along with rising expenses that has left the generation broke. (See related post "How Wall Street Gave Us Trump").

This helpless generation will be 37% of the e*****rate in 2020 and more than 75% of the workforce by the mid-2020s, and "socialism" is no longer a word that is frowned upon amongst the group.

With no end to their financial troubles in sight, 50% of younger Americans would prefer to live in a socialist country.

To make matters worse, 37% of Americans as a whole are now leaning towards a socialist over a capitalist economy.

Younger v**ers want universal healthcare, free college and the abolishment of ICE than the e*****rate as a whole, per the Poll.

The poll identifies the top three v****g issues on the side of socialism and liberal politics vs. that of President Trump and conservative ideals.

The top three v****g issues for Gen Z, according to the Harris poll, are mass shootings, racial e******y, and immigration policy and treatment of immigrants.

Millennials' top issues are access to health care, g****l w*****g/c*****e c****e and mass shootings.

Gen X's top issues are: access to health care, terrorism/national security and the national debt — the same top issues for boomers and older.

With younger generations financially penalized under QE to prevent the economy from a deflationary collapse, the Fed may have inadvertently t***sformed tens of millions of young Americans into socialist.

Gen Z and millennials have been indoctrinated from kindergarten to college to embrace socialist policies. They didn't stand a chance as soon as the liberals took over education. Unless parents paid attention to what was going on in the schools their kids attended and corrected their education, the kids have been indoctrinated without resistance. The government must should some of the blame for this. The lefties have put so much pressure on government to advance their agenda, unfair and bias laws have been passed and the Gen Z and millennials believe that these laws prove what they were taught is correct and fair. They know no better!

The Dept, of Education is a joke and should be abolished. The "hippies" have been indoctrinating our kids for a long time. "Free love" and "if it feels good, do it" mentality has been "super-imposed" on a majority of our kids. Don't blame the kids, blame the government that allowed this to happen.

There are several components to this problem. I do agree with you that education is certainly part of the problem.

What about the role of parents in helping their children learn responsibility, both fiscal and moral, and the lesson of deferment of gratification (pass on buying the lasted video game or cell phone and save your money).

Unfortunately, most families have become a two wage earner situation, and the role of the mother as care giver, confidence builder, and who is there to give moral guidance as the child matures has been sacrificed for material gain (I'm sure this comment will drive the feminist libs absolutely nuts - who am I to tell them how to limit their economic potential by choosing to demean their lives by spending more time with their children).

Since my background is in finance, I tend to focus on that element of the problem. Their was another great article in ZeroHedge (BTW - Facebook has just banned this publication for "violating their concept of community standards" wh**ever that means) entitled 63% of Millennial Homeowners Have Regrets About Their Purchase https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-03-03/63-millennial-homeowners-have-regrets-about-their-purchase-survey-finds.

Here again the issue of debt arises.

"For millennials, the $1.5 trillion student loan debt crisis is preventing most from achieving the American dream, or other life goals such as marriage and having children.

According to the latest figures on housing affordability from the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the housing affordability index (HAI) dropped from 167.1 in 2016, to 146.2 at the end of 2018. The HAI is a measure of home affordability and suggests that the crisis is worsening.

Given that millennials, who will make up a majority of the workforce in the next several years, represent a considerable homebuyer segment, but with affordability issues expanding, the crisis will only deepen."

You know....the “educational indoctrination”, under normal circumstances, should fail. In what generation did the children NOT form a r*******n against the current doctrine?

If history repeats itself, we should end-up with Jesus lovin’, gun totin’, Republicans!
