Cohen’s Testimony Should End the Mueller Investigation Now


Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. The Mueller investigation has turned up a bombshell. The Democrats finally have the smoking gun they needed. Trump’s days are numbered. It’s a pretty common mainstream media theme.

Despite that, having Michael Cohen testify before Congress probably felt like it might finally be the big break the Democrats have been desperately trying to find to impeach our President. This didn’t turn into another empty threat by the Democrats. The testimony they tried to use to bury President Trump actually cleared his name once and for all. Let’s take a deep look at Cohen’s testimony.

The Real Purpose of the Hearing

It’s no coincidence that Cohen testified before Congress during an historic meeting between President Trump and the leadership of North Korea. There was a real chance that the countries could take significant steps toward peace, and the last thing the Democrats can afford is to allow Donald Trump to be the man who denuclearizes or ends conflict with North Korea. It would be the end for them.

So, they scheduled a hearing with the one man in the world with the largest capacity to undermine President Trump’s authority. They made the hearing as public as possible, and they did it specifically to send a message to North Korea: you can’t trust this man’s promises because we’re trying to remove him from office.

It’s important to emphasize that this Congressional testimony bore no impact whatsoever on Mueller’s investigation. It was also completely unnecessary for t***sparency. House oversight committees can choose to declassify information as they see fit. They could have released all of this information without the circus, but the circus was the whole point. Sadly, their evil plan worked and we’ll have to wait for the next summit to make progress with North Korea.

The Content of the Testimony

You can confirm everything you just read by judging the content of Cohen’s testimony. It involved no hard evidence of any kind. In fact, the first hour was just Cohen trying to tell the world how wonderful he is and why we should believe him. In college classes, they call this establishing ethos. It’s a thinly veiled attempt to build credibility. That’s tough for a convicted perjurer to do.

Not to be deterred, Cohen doubled down on his appeal to ethos by attacking President Trump’s character. He spent an additional hour demeaning the President’s character in any and every way possible. It was pure, unrestrained mudslinging. None of it had any corroboration.

The whole point is to boil everything down to a ‘he said, he said’ between Mr. Trump and Cohen. They don’t care how Cohen comes across as long as he can d**g the President down with him.

In all, this was possibly the lowest point in the history of our nation’s Congress. A convicted liar was put on a stand before Congress and the world to sling mud at a president because the Democrats didn’t want to see him succeed at making the world a substantially safer place.

Let that sink in. They tried to push us closer to nuclear war just to tarnish President Trump’s name. Polite language isn’t strong enough to describe this villainy.

The Few Words That Mattered

In the depths of this media circus, there were a few uttered words that actually mattered. Cohen was asked point blank about what evidence he could provide that Mr. Trump colluded with the Russians. Keep in mind that Cohen had more access to the President’s inner circle and darkest secrets than any other human on the planet. He also had every motivation in the world to throw Mr. Trump under the bus.

Even with the deck stacked to that degree, Cohen admitted that he had no evidence whatsoever of Russian collusion. Furthermore, he was unable to provide any evidence at all that Donald Trump has engaged in any illegal activity or wrongdoing. Ever.

If there was any integrity left in the Justice Department, this would make the Democratic circus the biggest backfire in political history. Cohen just proved that the entire Mueller investigation is a baseless witch hunt, and it needs to end right now. The biggest smoking gun possible fired blanks. President Trump has done nothing wrong, and every day that we allow Mueller’s corrupt investigation to continue is an assault on liberty.

First of all, this "summit" was scheduled in a short period well after Cohen's hearing was set, if Trump didn't want the distraction to his summit he should have done it in a more well planned manner at a later time.

Secondly as pertains to the summit, without weeks or even months of well executed negotiations before hand, Trump is never going to have a meaningful exchange. This summit actually caused him to lose or rather give up things he supposedly got in the first one, although Kim was not complying anyway so Trump appeared to have been saving face.

To say that Cohen failed to prove that Trump had ever done anything illegal is ridiculous. He did nothing but give evidence of thing after thing Trump lied about that proves Trump fully knew about the things he had lied about. Misrepresenting property values to banks is bank fraud, misrepresenting them to the IRS is tax fraud.

Trump has made a very big target rich environment. His deal making sk**ls will get a workout plea bargaining many counts down to something less than life, although given his age that isn't much time.

That is an important fact. How could those listening to his testimony believe that he was responsible for what happen when he had never even been there. That exposed the fraud of the entire scheme.
