A House of Representatives panel sent document requests to 81 individuals and organizations associated with Donald Trump on Monday, in the most aggressive play yet by the newly installed Congress to investigate alleged wrongdoing by the president.

Democrats target Trump Jr, Weisselberg and more as investigations grow
Recipients of requests from the House judiciary committee included the president’s sons, Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump; son-in-law Jared Kushner; Allen Weisselberg, the longtime chief financial officer of the Trump Organization; former attorney general Jeff Sessions; former communications director Hope Hicks; the Trump inaugural committee; and former White House lawyer Don McGahn.

Also in receipt of requests were Cambridge Analytica, the now-defunct firm at the heart of the Facebook data harvesting scandal and Alexander Nix, who was its chief executive. Rob Goldstone, the British PR executive who set up an infamous meeting between Donald Trump Jr and a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower in June 2016, was also listed as a recipient. Requests were sent to Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, and the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who remains within the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

Recipients were given two weeks to respond, failing which they could be hit by legally binding subpoenas.

I thought that instead of investigating individuals prosecutors and/or Congressional oversight committees should be focusing on crimes. Apparently the Dems would prefer to investigate a person to see whether they can find a crime. Especially now that the Mueller Russian-collusion investigation is wrapping up without having found any such collusion. But having left a lot of collateral damage in lives destroyed for things that had been previously overlooked before Mueller. Guess he had to justify his $28 million fee. Trump must be clean as the driven snow if after 2 years Mueller couldn't find anything on him!
I'm hoping that the targets of the House request for documents take a page from the Democratic playbook and refuse to give them a single page. Stall, obfuscate, resist, deflect, delay, and just tell them to go to hell! Surely the targets can d**g it on for 2 years, including claims of privilege in court, after which time a Republican congress will be back in power and can put an end to this charade. After all, the Democrats gave up nothing when similar requests were made for documents by Republicans.
Hey Dems, we understand that you still can't accept the fact that Trump whupped your darling but can we get on with the business they were elected to do? Instead of constant, nonstop attacks on all things Trump? Where's a positive agenda? Something which will help Americans? Truly, the American people's patience with such childish temper tantrums is wearing thin and the 2020 e******n is right around the corner. Unless your platform is something other than 'Resist', you're gonna get whupped again! MAGA!

Meanwhile back at the ranch.......there are legal beagles fixing to drop the hammer on your pet skunks in Congress giving cause that they have gone well beyond their legitimate scope and entered the realm of harassment. Wouldn't it be nice to see them need to hire attorneys at their own expense? It will be a test of their mettle and integrity huh?

Screams of more than just hypocrisy, deb~~ They expose themselves to the obvious double standard they promote ie, if from or by the dems that is as it should be but the republicans not now or ever..

Actually I fail to see how they can investigate Trump given Muellers two years of nothing and THEY find anything different other than what they fabricate and spend millions like the hills on setting Trump up..The best evidence Trump will have is Muellers investigation!!! What a kick in the ass they will be giving themselves then too!!

Let them investigate all they want they damn sure aren’t doing anything for our country!! Have you seen, heard or read where they have done anything at all with country matters??? Pathetic garbage is what it is and they are!

If you want a time line, go to the link and read a move by move of the events so far.
Up to Jan 2019 or a bit later...

https://www.axios.com/mueller-russia-investigation-timeline-indictments-70433acd-9ef7-424d-aa01-b962ae5c9647.html

After nearly two years, special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation has netted 199 criminal charges, 37 indictments or guilty pleas, and 4 prison sentences.

Driving the news: Mueller filed an 800+ page sentencing memo, with attachments, for President Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort, in which he called Manafort a "hardened" criminal who "repeatedly and brazenly" broke the law for over a decade, even after being indicted. Manafort will be sentenced in two separate cases next month, and could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Gowdy proved no wrongs done by the Dems..

We will see soon what Muller presents..

It is sadly, very possible trump will walk.. everyone knows he is guilty, but he is expert at covering his butt and not leaving a paper trail..

So very possible he hid the evidence..

However it goes, trump can not win the 2020 e******n..

but again, sadly, the Dems can find a way to lose it..

Stay tuned..
