In the first, note that the researchers assume the norm is what they find in liberals and anything else is the a******l. That there are differences in the subjects' amygdala development is proven. That their study subjects who tend conservative have a more developed amygdala, is obvious. The conclusions they reach can simply be the biases of the researchers. I posted about the amygdala earlier in this thread. It has multiple but related functions related to memory, emotions, and threat/reward identification. Under developed amygdala is associated with anxiety disorders and autism. And while nearly all people under 25 have an amygdala which is smaller with less gray matter, the amygdala continues to grow in most people for decades. Though some people go through life with a small amygdala, especially those with anxiety disorders. So is it a******l to grow a larger amygdala with maturity, and with it become less reactionary and more conservative?
