The simple solution to this is to turn ownership of the memorial over to a Christian group by selling it to them at a nominal cost say a dollar then they can maintain it without using tax dollars. It could also be turned over to the American Leigon who erected it in the first place.

The whole thing is stupid...This Memorial was there for almost 100 years...Why change now???..This group doesnt like the fact that its Cross-shaped...So???..Are they gonna go to Arlington Memorial Cemetery and get rid of all Crosses there too???..How about Tomb of Unknown Soldier???...This is sick!!!!..Im not Christian, and i dont mind this cross..It symbolizes men and women that lost their lives during WW1!!!!!....These people need to get a life!!!
