A Great Economics Idea For Both Sides

One of the things that irk me most about the economic ideas of the left is the way these people believe it's acceptable to decide what is good for others, most of whom they don't even know, and then try sealing the deal by making it government policy -- in other words, the "beneficiaries" of this "progressive" wisdom are forced, by law, to go along whether they like it or not.

Take the recent N.Y./Amazon kerfuffle. That twit (there was a time in my blogger years that I reserved the title "twit" for NYT columnist Maureen Dowd, but she doesn't even come close to) Representative (AOC) Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D, NY) and her following of socialists "rescued" some 25,000+ unemployed residents of the State of New York from landing a job or perhaps from leaving a low paying job for a better paying job, all in the name of kicking a large corporation, that would have been the employer of all those people, square in the groin. That same brilliant stroke of social justice also cost the state itself over $24 billion smackers in tax revenues down the road.

Did it cost AOC any money, or her job? No and how likely do you think it is that it cost any of those who supported the measure a job? Very, very unlikely. In fact, they were all probably all or mostly well heeled, financially secure elitist "progressives" or "socialists" whose own fortunes weren't affected in the slightest by Amazon's withdrawal from the deal.

As for Amazon, well, Jeff Bezos isn't worried, he knows that there are plenty of states that would give up a lot more than $3 billion in tax deferments to get Amazon's business. The AOC groin kick bounced off the surface of a very strong cup, and Bezos didn't feel a thing.

But those 25,000+ people sure did.

AOC wants to bury America beneath her Green New Deal, which is now being championed by a host of other Democrats in Congress, and once the thin sugar coating, naive reasoning and the rest of the Utopian drivel is scraped off, this is essentially what we would have:

https://freebeacon.com/issues/study-green-new-deal-would-cost-up-to-94-trillion/

Essentially, this plan that's catching on with Kamala Harris and various other Democrats could conceivably end the United States of America, turning us into a veritable economic wasteland.

We would have to be taxed into oblivion to pay for a fraction of the Green New Deal.

So here's my idea, since the whole shebang originates from within the Democratic Party, who elected and thereby "owns" AOC to begin with:

Record and attribute each and every one of the v**es cast in November, 2020, and proceed from there.

We go with the Green New Deal.

Everyone in the country who v**es Democrat gets to enjoy the tax increases the Green New Deal would require -- they pick up the entire tab.

Everyone who v**es for Republicans or Independents continues paying taxes at their current rate and, thus, everyone will be happy.

The Democrats can enjoy paying all the massive taxes they crave, give up their firearms, freedom and cash while those of us with brains get the pleasure of lowered taxes, getting to keep more of our hard-earned money to spend as we see fit and continued enjoyment of the Bill of Rights.

Simple.

I read it has a 93 trillion dollar price tag.
Not sustainable, not to mention it sounds unworkable and a garbage law.

Right, so like I said, the socialists are members of the Democratic Party, and are v**ed for by registered Democrats.

Most Americans want none of what these Socialist Democrats are trying to force on us, right?

The ideal solution?

If they want their "Green New Deal," fine, as long as every penny that supports it comes from massive tax increases to Democrats only, while the rest of us are paying in taxes what we presently pay.

It's always been my opinion that whenever the Democrats come up with one of their dumbass ideas, they should have to open up their checkbooks and leave the rest of us be.

Once it became clear that the rest of us weren't put here as their political ATMs and that they have to finance their own disasters, maybe they'd pull their heads out of their nether regions once and for all and stop v****g in left wingers.

I can't believe anybody v**es for them now.
They always have their hands in our pockets.
It's really easy to spend other peoples money.

That's their specialty. If it weren't for Democrats, taxes would be a fraction of what they are and government would be a lot smaller, like the founders meant it to be.

It sure would.
I remember a woman running for Texas senator.
She ran on getting rid of property taxes.
I thought surely we'd pick her.

I'd've v**ed for someone like her without hesitation.

A well written, cogent and spot on post that reeks of common sense Seth! Unfortunately the current crop of 'tax and spend' big government dimocrats are totally devoid of basic economics and especially 'common sense'! AOC and her 'new green deal' championed by her and the dimocrats running for POTUS on the dimocratic platform of everything free for everyone are rendered speechless when confronted of how we would possibly pay for this boondoggle. Oh, that's right, a wealth tax.

Lol, I have thought once or twice of how well an aerosol spray, along the lines of Deet Plus or Off!, only this one a "liberal" repellant for spraying around city halls, state and federal legislative complexes, etc, would work.

Eventually, maybe even something for a cropduster-style delivery to cover much larger areas, even cities and, eventually, entire states.

If only...

She didn't even come close.
I was happy about her.
My property taxes have gone nuts.

It might be the mass migration of California "liberals," now that they've screwed up California, they are moving to AZ and TX to escape taxes -- the more that come to Texas, the more they v**e for their own kind, the more diluted the will of native Texans becomes

That irritates me too.
They come to be Texas to escape the mess they made with their v**es and then v**e the same way.
Makes no sense.
Also we don't have a state income tax.

Let the liberals get too many of their own v**ed in, then they'll be asking, "Why isn't there a state income tax here? Imagine all the great social justice and big government programs we could have in this great state if everyone paid their 'fair share' of income tax? Let's get a few more 'progressives' into the state legislature and make some changes...."

They are human scabies, get a few on you, or in this case get a few in your state...

It's more than a few.
We had them coming from up north a few years ago.
The theft rose tremendously.
I had a pickup stolen.
That was a weekend their theft really went into overdrive.
We didn't have enough housing.
They were building as fast as they could.
A luxury apartment in the next town cost $1,200.00 a month. A FEMA trailer house here rented for $1,200.00 a month.

My final retirement location is going to be someplace those people aren't likely to be interested in. Right now I'm thinking Yuma, where the bulk of such traffic is apparently snowbirds who leave again in the spring, or someplace thereabouts.
