CNN certainly knows how to end an interview when things get a bit out of hand.

Take, for instance, the network’s recent segment with Daniel Di Martino. Di Martino is a Venezuelan expatriate who supports an international force coming to the aid of U.S.-recognized Venezuelan President Juan Guaidó and to end the violence and impoverishment that the country is facing.

He’s also the author of a USA Today piece titled “Venezuela was my home, and socialism destroyed it. Slowly, it will destroy America, too.”

The folks at CNN’s “New Day” were OK with hearing about the first part. However, when Di Martino talked about his piece and issued a stark warning about the Democrats and the direction they were taking, they CNN hosts were much happier to bring the interview to an end.

In the weekend interview, Di Martino talked about growing up in the country back when Venezuela was the darling of the socialist world. He called it “much better than now. I did have what I needed.”

“As time progressed, starting in around 2010 when I have some memories, when I was 11 years old, as well as a little earlier, you could see shortages of food, especially milk, toilet paper.

“By the time I left Venezuela, we didn’t have electricity at least once a week,” Di Martino continued. “Water went out for weeks long. And I was privileged, let me tell you, because I know people who lived in rural areas instead of the city, Caracas, where I lived, and they sometimes didn’t have electricity for weeks. Now people are starving because they don’t even have basic food.”
CNN had no problem with Di Martino so far. However, when he started talking about parallels between Venezuelan socialism and American socialists, that’s when they were less happy to hear him out.

Do you think socialism would be bad for America?
It could be said that anchor Dave Briggs actually asked for it when he talked about the “word of warning” Di Martino gave to Americans over socialist politicians in his Feb. 15 piece.

“Though so many of us Venezuelans fled to the USA to escape from the destructive consequences of socialism, liberal politicians like Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. José Serrano, D-N.Y., have praised the same kind of policies that produced famine, mass exodus and soaring inflation in Venezuela,” Di Martino wrote.

“Even worse, in recent weeks, Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar, Ro Khanna and Tulsi Gabbard have mischaracterized the protests against Maduro and condemned President Donald Trump’s widely supported moves to help end Maduro’s dictatorship.

“Additionally, many congressional Democrats support Medicare for All and the Green New Deal, proposals that would nationalize the health insurance industry, guarantee everyone who wants it a job and massively raise taxes, increasing government intervention in the economy like few countries except Cuba and Venezuela have seen before,” he continued. “Proponents think that they can give all Americans quality health care, housing and everything for free and that somehow, politicians can do a better job at running a business than the business owners themselves.”

Di Martino was asked about how he “would warn v**ers here in this country.” And, well, he certainly warned them.
“Look. There is no further proof of my argument than Bernie Sanders’ statement a few days ago,” Di Martino said.

“He refused to say that Nicolas Máduro was a dictator and refused to recognize Juan Guaidó as the president of Venezuela. Something Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats have done. This is really dangerous.

“Democratic primary v**ers really need to push out these radical Democrats from their party because not all Democrats are that way,” he continued. “I really urge bipartisan compromise on this issue because if we continue Venezuela with socialism and produce very radical socialist policies toward the United States, the United States might get closer to what we are seeing right now in Venezuela.”

That was a message CNN clearly didn’t want to end on. So Briggs jumped in.

“Now, just to be clear, neither AOC nor Bernie Sanders is pushing for a Venezuelan style of socialism,” he said.

“They want the Green New Deal and Medicaid for all, but you’re saying that is perhaps a path down that road.” And then, just as it looked like Di Martino was about to interject, Briggs said, “But it’s great to have your perspective. Daniel Di Martino, thank you for your time.”

Very subtle, Dave Briggs. Very subtle.

I understand a network has to end a segment. That’s fine. But ending the segment by essentially calling the person’s argument false and then not giving him a chance to respond — after you specifically asked the person about it — is about as CNN-ish as it gets.

They basically blunted his call to push the socialist Dems out of the party and instead tried to make Democrats look better. Nice work.

Strong Russian community where I used to live. Each and every one is a conservative glad to be in America. Their community is thriving, no handouts for them. They have assimilated and speak English well. And the accents are very aytrackteef on a female Russians, most who have other very aytrackteef qualities.
They are all fearful of the creeping socialism in America.

Back in 2017 my nephew and I were out in Washington State fishing on the Puget Sound on a charter boat and there 6 of us with one being a Russian !

Robby and I were the only ones that talked to him and we found out he was a Dr and had his pilot lic so in the process of getting to know him I asked him when he came to America and he said 1979 and I then asked him why he came to America .

He said would you believe me if I told you FREEDOM !

This is why many good people who want to come here to follow their dream while others want to come here for all the free stuff the Demo's offer !

Socialistic Programs are supported by the Democrats for two reasons:

Get their hands in your pockets.
Encroach on your freedom and put you under Government control.

They sell the new green deal on fear “supported by kids like those who visited Dianne Feinstein Congressional Office.” Children who have received “ green initiative programming” in our nation’s school. If you don’t march behind those holding green f**g even if you have “serious concerns about the scope , breadth, depth and cost of the green initiative,” you are ridiculed and dismissed as an unconcerned right wing capitalist pig! The sale of the green initiative is easy to deliver to the left wing lemmings who are extremely gullible and ignorant and accept the Democrat narrative without challenge. The remainder of the American’s who oppose or challenge the initiative are scorned and condemned. No debate, no discussion. The Democrats will say in a similar manner to what was said by house leader, Nancy Pelosi, “When you read the green initiative legislation we just passed, you will know what’s in it!” Yes, you will know when your electric bill rises to a thousand bucks a month or when gas prices hit $5.00 a gallon. A repeat performance of the Obamacare legislature. That’s the Democrat modus operandi!

That’s when the Democrat lemming v**er says: “What the hell caused our electricity and gasoline prices to get so high?” The stupid cavalier green initiative supporters pushed for the green initiative legislation and now they must pay the price. Such fools! A fool and his money will soon part.

Additionally, they have a habit of disregarding input from people like the Russians mentioned by yourself and Mikey who have actually lived and fled what these "liberals" are trying to force on the rest of us.

Yep. When it was still the USSR, it was the lefties' version of Mecca. Now they only use it to attack Trump with their Tall Tales of Collusion®.

Look at whom the lefties attack, America and Russia. Two nuclear sovereign nations of hard working white people.
To succeed in their goal of a borderless one government world with Islam as the policing religion, the international left must neutralize Russia and America, two obstacles stopping their dreams.

Trump's not gonna let that happen, and Putin's not, either, and good ol' Vlad's got a lot more "methods" available to him in his neck of the woods than we do. Over there, he can make problems, even in human form, "go away," never to be heard from again.

Remember, when the Russians got custody of those Somali pirates, who seemed subsequently to disappear, their sardonic explanation was "Oh, we 'let them go.'"

Dems will blame higher gas and electricity costs on capitalist greed. Blame BP, Shell, Mobil et cet. All pvt utility companies. Even if the high prices are all taxes. And the media will play their game.

Americans had better start reading behind the lines OR ELSE!

The international left is pushing Trump and Putin to become allies. Hilliar would have gone to war with Russia just to weaken both countries enough for the borderless one government world assimilation.
