The NRA is trying to incite violence against Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and former Rep. Gabby Giffords who almost lost her life in a mass shooting.
The NRA Is Trying To Get Nancy Pelosi Shot
The NRA referred to Pelosi and Giffords as “target practice:”

There is no other way to interpret the phrase target practice. The NRA was calling for violence against the most powerful woman in the United States. The NRA is an extremist organization that blocks efforts to curb gun violence because they are not an organization that represents the interests of responsible gun owners. The NRA is the powerful gun lobbying arm of gun manufacturers.
Every position that the NRA takes is designed with the intention of boosting profit for gun makers.

Pelosi and Giffords represent a threat to their profits, which is why the NRA has taken a violent posture.

Congress wants to know if Russia owns the NRA

The congressional investigation is at least the third known probe into Russia and the NRA. Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating the Russia/NRA connection, and the FBI is investigating the NRA. The NRA is under investigation for potentially laundering Russian money and getting it into the campaign coffers of Donald Trump and Republican Senate candidates.

Congress is also investigating the NRA for illegally funneling money to Trump and other Republican candidates through the use of shell companies.
The NRA is in a world of hurt, and when Trump goes down, he is likely taking the Russian bought gun lobby front group down with him.

Funny you say that, I try to ride the center as a moderate progressive if there is such a thing, I agree with some positions on both sides but usually moderated levels. I get kicked off both liberal and hard right sites because they don't want people who disagree with any of their positions.

As an example of this I am personally against a******n but do not agree that it is anybody's right to interfere with a personal choice like that...especially the government or the church

NRA ILA article in the March 2019 issue of The American Rifleman:

"Target Practice"

"Congressional Democrats Target Gun Owners for persecution with extreme firearm t***sfer bans".

And that is the only "targeting" mentioned in the article.
