It is Coos Bay Tom's...
And as deeply deserving of attention as the a******n issue is.. This is the wrong section to be challenging people on their beliefs...
Allow me to share...
After twelve years together (eight married) my wife and I decided to have a child... Our home was paid off... We both had good jobs... We had a stable relationship...
After doing full physicals and (me) abstaining from alcohol and tobacco for a few months we gave it a shot and conceived on the first try (I was arrogant enough to bet my wife that one time was all it would take my boys
)..
One month into the pregnancy we went to the hospital to make sure... And were told that there was a large cancerous growth on the walls of my wife's womb... The doctors assured us that the fetus would almost surely naturally abort... And that the safest course of action would be to abort the fetus then and surgically remove the tumor...
After leaving the hospital my wife broke down and started crying... Told me that this was our baby and she wanted it... I was helpless... A man should protect his family...
A week later we returned for a second test... The tumor had grown and the doctors now recommended terminating the pregnancy and immediate surgery.. They were becoming concerned for my wife... For a second time I carried her home crying...
I prayed that night as I had every night... Seeking guidance and answers... In the morning we discussed options and decided to risk it.... Because it was our baby... Our family... And deserving of our love...
My wife received excellent care, with weekly visits to the hospital... She suffered numerous complications... But the fetus developed healthy... And we endured...
On August 31 my daughter was born via C-section... At the same time my wife received surgery to remove the tumor... It was larger than both my hands together and the surgery brought her close to death...But we had excellent doctors and she pulled through...
At 3:36p.m. on that day I held my daughter in my arms... Named her by God's grace... And swore to protect her for all her days on this earth...
My wife has yet to recover fully from the surgery... And we will never have a second child... And my daughter is the single most beautiful thing on this earth...
So I apologize if my stances on a******n offend you... Or if my desire to relax in this section and share a few moments of peace with other good natured people doesn't suit your ideological drive...
And I really don't fucking appreciate you harping on me and calling me cold-hearted and shallow on this issue... You don't fucking know me and you don't get to judge me...
Good night and goodbye...

My dear Canuckus,
I stand corrected on it being Coos Bay Tom's thread. Oops, my bad.
That's very sad that you endured all that. My sympathies to you and your family.
However, your desire for a "safe space" doesn't equate to a negating of my rights to free speech. If I have broken any board rules, that would be one thing, but you haven't shown that I have.
Based on your passion, perhaps you shouldn't have initiated implying my statement was a political one, or was even directly about a******n. I still don't believe my statement was off topic.
So, as far as I can tell, you completely own being triggered, you can't pawn that off on me.
Anyway, I went back and refreshed my memory about the rules.
I certainly did not see a rule that requires a poster to know and consider a person's life history before posting, because unknowingly triggering someone isn't allowed. Are you consistent in expecting anyone who responds to you, in a way you don't agree with, to be worthy of your profanity-laced rage?
Here are some notes from the rules or topic headings that I did find:
"Main
"This is where we talk about politics, economics, and life in general."
Appears to me, this whole thread, being about "life in general," should have been under the main page. So I won't post any more on this thread after this one.
Under General rules by the admin:
"Please watch your language. We would like to keep this site clean."
Sounds like a fine rule to me!
Have a blessed day, friend!
