A case of parents encouraging children to be involved in politics and not grow up to think on their own. A seven year old should not be put in the position to defend a political position.

Agreed. My grandad gathered me up by the scruff of the neck at the age of 18, and got me registered to v**e, then when the time came, he came and drug my hung over ass out of bed and took me to v**e. I asked him who to v**e for, and he said whoever I thought would do the best job. When I said I didn't know, he told me it was time I started paying attention so I would know.
I'll never forget that day. He didn't ask how I v**ed, he just took me to breakfast, and we went to the hardware store, got Granny a new screen door, and put it up.

I never talked to my kids about politics either. I just told them like Popo did me. Your an American. It's your duty.
