With respect, I disagree. Watch the start of the video. Notice, this is a high crime area. The police pull up to a car with at least three adults in a motel 6 parking lot. The police was polite and asked them if they were staying at the motel. The response was no. Then the police politely asked for identification.... everyone said they did not have identification, to include the driver. The officer asked for anything with their name on it. One person from the back of the car produced some papers (unknown if it was ID or just junk mail). Then the passenger started stuffing "stuff" in a backpack and under the seat. He then opened the passenger door after the officer told him to stop. The passenger then became verbally aggressive, and again refused to identify himself. Stating that he had an ID but would not provide it to the officer. The officer advised him to stay where he was and not "stuff" things ... at this point the man decides to get out of the car, and the officer told him to stay where he was. He still had his seat belt on, which indicates he was either drunk or high. He also advised him that should he "tense up" (meaning if he should make movement that could be seen as threatening to the officers) that he would be tazed. Then the excitement began, someone in the backseat hit "Mark" in the head. As the passenger is on the ground, he began to kick the officers. At this point, an officer pulls down the man's pants... apparently looking for weapons, something that could cause harm or cost the life of an officer. The person narrating the video said he was tazed 11 times, this claim is not supported by the video.... count them, 1 time when he attempted to get out of the vehicle after being told to stay put, one time after "Mark" was hit in the head and perhaps another time when he was kicking the officers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZES6s4tBJM

So, recap... a group was in a high crime area. Parked in a well known drug pick up spot (this is not in the report, but it is well know in the area). Did not use the turn signal, refused to show or even tell the officer his name, decided to get out of the car after being told not to, and then someone hit an officer in the head, then the passenger decided that it would be smart to kick the officers. A factor not covered... in 2018 over 40 police officers in Maricopa were shot at, actually shot with 3 who were k**led while on "routine" traffic stops... no statistics are available for officers who were stabbed, beat, or run over. Also of interest, the passenger is currently in prison on an unrelated burglary charge....
