Then you are prolly 1/8 Cherokee Indian then.
Related to this thread topic: A close local friend of mine...a 'Nam Vet...is under consideration for being awarded The Congressional Medal Of Honor for actions back 'round 1970. His unit's actions took place in an area of SE Asia U.S. troops were not supposed to be, but can't recall if it was Laos or Cambodia, etc. As a result, he could not be awarded at the time for his heroism. Wh**ever the defense department decides, he will be notified at some point in the (hopefully) near future.

sorry I would have to add another link in there that ywould make you about 1/8 Cherokee then. Are there any other Indians in your lineage?
Right on. If there is no further blood injection. The blood line is halved each passing generation.
GG grandmother 100%
G grandparent 50%
Grandparent 25%
Parent 12.5 %
Yourself 6.25 %

Lets see if your great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee and she was on which side of the family your grandmothers or your grandfathers? That would mean that either your grandmother or your grandfather would be at least 50% Cherokee Indian, Then if there was no more Indian blood in the line you would be at least 25% Cherokee Indian by my calculations. If there was more Cherokee blood in you lineage then you would have to go through the lineage and figure how much you are.
Lets see if your great grandmother was full bloode... (
show quote)
The Sgt. Major, I believe, is 25% Cherokee, as her grandmother was full-blooded, but not her mother.
