Being pro birth but refusing help ( food stamps-welfare) to the mothers and children who are poor is not pro life. That is my gripe about the whole thing. We go on about being Christians but we take a hardline attitude on the poor-- contraceptives--education -SOCIAL programs, and feel we are righteous and doing what is good for our country. What we really are doing is increasing the rate of a******n by taking away the very things that prevent a******n. Nobody wants to hear that either.

Please allow us to help our neighbors and stop taking our money to buy your next e******n. Welfare should only go to widows and orphans. Like it was set up to do before the politicians found that by expanding it they can get easy v**es. Plenty of jobs, find one and some self-respect. Then you too can lend a helping hand.

What about women whose husbands leave them for other women? What about military families whose breadwinners aren't earning enough to feed their families?

That is one thing that our federal government did a bang up job on and that was taking as much fun out of owning your own business as is possible and still letting you keep a crumb that fell to the floor.

Is Oregon really that bad ?

I was there in 2014 doing traffic surveys for the National Parks Dept.

But I was in the Crater Lake area.

That place is magical.

It's a shame that the state is falling into socialism.

Far too much of our economy depended on the timber industry and lumber mills. The spotted owl bullcrap devistated our economy in the 80s and we never found a good replacement for what we were. -Oregon has 75% of the worlds supply of Douglas fir. Between Federal timber being locked up to protect endangered spieces (a smokescreen) and allowing the export of raw logs to China and Japan we now have in some towns two lost generations. People who have grown up without an adult in the house who had to go to work at a good paying job. People who have surrendered. I made my own job many years ago or I would have been in the same boat if I wanted to live here. Our govenor and govenors past have done good by our citizens but I believe Kate Brown is going to far now. The Oregon senate is v****g on limiting ammunition sales to 20 rounds per month and only with a background check and 14 day waiting period on all firearms purchases. Nobody wants a lunatic to have a gun or ammo but this is way out of line. I have not given up on my chosen home where I was born so I guess I'm a lifer.

Oregon is and always has been an open carry state. I don't think there is much to worry about. Also I live in the only county in the United States where it is illegal for a law enforcement officer to enforce any new gun laws that may come up. I hope Your open carry law goes through.
