Oh stop it, people have a right to know what elected officials are doing financially, that is established law.

If it's established law then you established it. I realize progressives understand the rule of law to be those things they believe lawful as opposed to those laws they don't like.

Congress has a legal right to the returns, perhaps if the i***t Pumpkinfuhrer stops being such a whining arsehole the committee won’t make them public, but in the end it’s up to them not him.

Then you have no problem with Pelosi producing her tax returns too?

What established law are you referring to?

What legal right is that? Remember "want" isn't a right.

The House effectively delegates its oversight responsibilities to its committees which can issue subpoenas for documents or testimony from the executive branch. In the matter of tax returns, the law could not be more clear (see Code sec. 6103(f)): Upon written request by either the Chairman of either the House Ways and Means Committee or the Senate Finance Committee, the Treasury Secretary “shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request.” The Ways and Means Committee may share these tax returns and related information with the full House, assuming there is a legitimate purpose for doing so.

Congress gave itself the right to review any return or return information in 1924, in the aftermath of two controversies. One was the Teapot Dome scandal, where senior officials in the Harding Administration granted public oil field leases in exchange for bribes. The other involved allegations that Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon continued to own many business interests while serving in government. Some believed the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the precursor to the IRS, showed favoritism to the secretary and his businesses.

Here is a link to the law in question.

I've seen the law. They still may not get them and the public may never see them. I hope they don't. There are enough investigations going on that are taking away from politicians actually doing their jobs. The sooner those are done the better.

Personally I don't care about any President's tax returns.

By calling a sitting president names - any president - you show a lack of respect for the office itself. I said the same to those who called Obama names.

I am sorry to say that I must not have been here when you have called people out on the name calling on Obama. Thus far, I have only seen one here calling Trump any names (remarks concerning intelligence or any other traits they perceive him to have or lack aren't name calling), we ALL know who that is (I have laughed at it internally several times I am ashamed to admit). On the other hand, name calling on Obama and all too many other Democrats and any accused of being a rino or a Democrat/rino or a Democrat/rino supporter, that runs quite rampant and thus far, I have seen nobody speaking out against it, myself included.

If it is improper for one to do it, it is improper for ANY to do it. If it is condone/encouraged of one, it is condoned/encouraged for ALL. Thus far I have taken no stance on name calling (I do find it to be somewhat offensive in most cases even if I do in those same cases sometimes get a chuckle from it), but I too find it unbecoming and the lowest form of expression especially whereas it pertains to generalizations of groups of people rather than specific persons/entities that one feels deserving (I prefer to h**e the individual for the individual's own actions/words specifically if deserved). Generalized h**e tends to show great ignorance and limited intellect.

Edit: Since the time of this post (not too long ago) I recalled another example of direct name calling against the president by at least one additional poster, so that bumps the insults directed at Trump be "anti-Trumpers to two names being slung at Trump by at least two individuals. Added for accuracy, there may be more names and/or incidents that I am as yet unaware of.

Of course you don’t give a damn about your Pumpkinfuhrers Tax returns it is your desire that his guilt and treacherous behavior remain hidden from the public and law enforcement. The investigation does nothing to stop Trump from doing his job evidently he spends 60% of his waking hours glued to the TV anyway. If I was in his shoes and innocent I would leave no stone unturned in finding out hoe Russia mucks with e******ns around the world. Further for the attack on social media alone we should put crippling sanctions on anyone with business dealings with Putin and do what we can to collapse the Russian economy to turn the Russian people and Oligarchs against Putin.

I wasn't here when Obama was president and I don't read all the posts. I skip many of them. If I passed one over on Obama then shame on me.

I agree. Though I'll never be a democrat I don't care for their various names nor do I care for the republican variations (I'm not republican either). Nor do I care for libtard or anything similar and do wish people would stop.

In this case the office of president deserves more respect than most give it. IMO what's happening now isn't because of Trump. What's happening in government now is because of us. If we can't control ourselves how then do we expect elected officials to?

Is that right. I didn't v**e for Trump (or Clinton). So now which box do you put me in? You come across as a shrill partisan tool and exemplify what I detest about today's politics. The investigations will turn up what they will and in the meantime I want no part of the trial by media.

That's what I want from all of them. Not just the president. No circuses just get on with it and get the job done. In the meantime they need to focus on their job. Their job is to work for this country not bog things down with investigation after investigation.
