The reality is actually interesting, the FBI has always been known to favor the right, it was deeply set up as an organization that could be used to go after political adversaries.

When Obama took office there was open talk about him needing to purge right wing elements of the FBI and secret service, because it was dominated to a degree that could be dangerous to him personally...he refused to play that game and left a high number of those from the previous administration. In fact he left a high number of Bush people in much of government.

Trump did across the board eliminations of anyone Obama that was and still is disruptive to government. There is no reason to leave civil servants in place who are doing a good job and that have been through several administration changes, something Trump would never get.
