A couple days ago, Lindsey Graham asked President Trump to re-open the Government for three weeks to negotiate a border security and wall package. In exchange Graham and Senate Republicans promised to back Trump, if after three weeks the request for the wall is not funded by Congress.
President Trump agreed to that today and it is brilliant. Here is why. President Trump will direct the Army Core of Engineers to build the wall under the National Emergencies Act. The Democrats will freak out and want to stop him. The mechanism to stop him is not the courts, it is a joint resolution of both houses of Congress.

Because Trump opened the Government at the request of the Senate Republicans there is no way a v**e to stop him in the Senate will happen. This will leave the House passing resolution after resolution that will never be taken up in the Senate.
The Democrats will go to the courts demanding an injunction to stop it. They will likely get one from a lower court, but the wall will be finished or almost finished by then. The lower court will be overturned.

The American people don’t like the government shutdown. They will not be upset with the Army Core of Engineers using existing funds to build a wall. The spectacle in the House along with the court battles to stop it are bad optics.
All the many thousands of Democrats running for President will be enhancing the bad optics by running left on border security to please the AOC wing of the party. This will define the Democrats correctly for open borders and add to the narrative that the Democratic Party as an extreme radical socialist party. Brilliant play Mr. President!"

No one ever said that the Army Core of Engineers using existing funds to build a wall was a problem... it was the new 5.7 billion that caused the problem... Trump could have done this anytime if there was any form of real crisis... the last 2 years was all Republicans calling the shots... stupid campaign promise leads to stupid border crisis... the data shows the big rise In i******s are Canadian's overstaying their welcome. Once Trump gets the Republicans on board, the courts would be wasting their time because that decision is in the rights of the Senate to do.

The Army Core of engineering cannot use tax payer funds to build a wall without House approval. Any shifting of existing funds have already been approved by the house for specific projects.

It was not the 5.7 billion that was the problem it was that Mexico will pay for the Wall. Nobody cared because we already have 680 miles of fencing in the Melting points. Melting points are in heavily populated areas on both sides of the border and i******s cross in these areas and can quietly melt into the cities and towns. What the fencing or Walls do is slows them down. Out in the desert areas thes are low traffic areas and the legislation back in Dec. called for an additional 360 miles of barriers with high Tech equipment that warns the CBP agents of I******s approaching the border.

I have been saying the same thing if there was this so called crisis on the southern border why did he wait two years and he had 100% control over the legislative branch. It’s a manufactured crisis to fore fill a campaign promise.

And yes you are 100% correct we have more i******s crossing the Canadian border but that gets ignored. The only difference is Canadians are White and Nexicans are brown.
