The last time I saw a KKK hood was in Alabama in summer of 1948. I was with my father and uncle outside of Birmingham I saw a large fire beside a house and a group of people in sheets and hoods and I asked my
father what was going on, my uncle responded, and told me it was about a man who beat his wife and that they were warning a man what was going to happen for mistreating his wife. All people involved were white.
We were in my uncles car driving by.

I have lived the majority of my life in Virginia.... I am almost 70 and can t***hfully say that I have never seen a KKK hood or met a member of the KKK.

You don't think maybe they sanitized the story a bit for a kid?
In Alabama in 1948 men had the right to beat and abuse their wives, that story was pure BS.

My grandmother said when her dad died they found the red robe of the leader in his trunk in the attic, they never knew, at least that's what her mother said, but then who sewed the satin lined robe? Plus her mother said he was an exalted cyclops

Are you saying the KKK became mounties?
(My mom sent me a story from some small town paper or other saying that Canadians should no longer wear red caps (ie. supporters of the Molson Canadian beer or the old Calgary Flames caps) because they might be mistaken for MAGA caps and trigger visiting americans.... it was a While back and I can't find it now... Many chuckles...)
