In all fairness, she didn't try to block it .. she disinvited Trump from giving it in the House … unless and until he agreed to put an end to the partial shutdown. She cannot stop him from moving it to any other venue … which is what he should do.

She's not blocking his speech. He can insult and denigrate Democrats and their constituents to his hearts content...just not in their House.

I believe one reason she didn't want to have it in the House is because she couldn't tolerate the idea of sitting with the other leaders behind him, on camera. No doubt she could not bring herself to applaud for any of his accomplishments, which would make her look even more petty and childish …. and angry. But, too late, nan. Too late …..

Hi all, I just posted a topic pertaining to this very thing. How can she legally cancel the SOTU? She is one person in one party in one branch of the government. She invited Trump to give the speech in writing and he responded in writing that he would give the SOTU in front of congress. It seems to me in any event, that a contract of sorts was made between the two of them.

Personally, I think her party is done. They’ve been showing their true colors since day one of Trump’s presidency. Sadly, lots of Americans are sheeples & will continue to listen & follow the Dems. Trump will win big in ‘20, though.

Why are they not having term limits in all phases of Govt... no one should be able to hold a position over 2 years....... Well the Presidency... longer..
