https://www.politicususa.com/2019/01/21/trump-michigan.htmlThe old narrative that Trump v**ers will stick with him through anything is crumbling as v**ers in key states are leaving him over the government shutdown.
The Washington Post went to Michigan, and what they found a was president whose base is cracking:
While Trump’s relationship with much of his base remains strong, two years after his inauguration his ties are fraying with v**ers like Daudert, the kind who v**ed in droves for Trump in 2016 in key pockets throughout the industrial Midwest and flipped previously Democratic states to him. The shutdown fight, as it has played out over the past month, is further eroding his support among v**ers who like the idea of beefing up border security, but not enough to close the government.
Many here, even those who still support Trump, say they hold him most responsible. They recite his comment from the Oval Office that he would be “proud to shut down the government.” When he said it, they listened.
Trump is losing support over the government shutdown
The shutdown is wrecking Trump with his base. The president has lost double-digit support with evangelicals and suburban white men. He has also seen declines in support with Republicans and men without college degrees. Trump’s base is abandoning him because he hasn’t been able to justify the shutdown, and he has shown no sign that he cares about the people who are being harmed by his decision. The danger for Trump is that he is confirming that he doesn’t care about the same people who he campaigned on speaking for. The perception has become a reality.
T***p w*n in 2016 by about 80,000 v**es in three states.
If Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania flip back to the Democratic column, Trump will be doomed in 2020. The early signs are there that v**ers in these states realize that they made a mistake in 2016, and are getting ready to right their wrong in 2020.

Even before reading the content of your post, I knew, from the heading alone, that it had to be posted by one of the regulars here on OPP with a severe case of TDS.
Bingo!
Citing Rachel Maddow and MSNBC as your sources tells me everything I need to know.
Trump has been the best thing that's happened to the presidency since Ronald Reagan.
When he wins in a landslide in 2020 will you finally get it?
More likely you'll remain in denial.

Believe it or not, the left doesn't care. Logic runs off them like water off a duck's back. The WaPo went to Michigan and discovered Trump's base was cracking? That is the funniest line I've read in many moons. If the WaPo goes anywhere to find out anything, it's going to be negative to Trump. I don't understand the reasoning that it is Trump's fault that there is a shutdown when all of Trump's requests were, at one time, agreed to by the Democrats. It is so obvious that the Dems are simply being stubborn and do not want Trump to get his way on anything. It's pretty tough to go up against a heavily l*****t press and be able to get a salient point across to the people - part of the reason for tweeting. Sort of like trying to make a point with l*****ts on OPP. Bad Bob cuts and pastes some stupid article out of Politicus and when you try to make a logical point on it, he answers with stupid cartoons. Get used to it, Walt, it ain't gonna change with them.
I agree with your Trump/Reagan statement.

What key points are you referring to, Jim? The cartoon he posted? Would you mind explaining to me how this is Trump's fault when the Dems once agreed to Trump's demands? You know this is pure politics on the part of Pelosi and Schumer who don't want Trump to get credit for anything, and then their willing accomplices in the press simply carry on to reinforce their stubborn refusals. BTW, when Bad Bob makes a key point, I will be the first to congratulate him. While you're at it, you might want to try to explain how "trickle-up" economics works. I've never been offered a job by someone in the 50% of the US who pay no income taxes. Maybe you could shed some light on that fuzzy thinking.

Well, Jim, you got that second sentence right.
Once one begins to negotiate with a terrorist, it must be realized that one is merely haggling over the time and manner of one's own demise once the hostages are eliminated.
I believe it is the case that the democrats are refusing to negotiate as long as American citizens and workers are being held hostage.

Almost certainly. They get not only their news, but their opinions are trotted out for them by the likes of Racial Madcow and Chris
