Trumps proud refusal to open the government is forcing thousands of Americans to work without pay. What is needed is for them to go on strike. Shut down air and seaports, Amtrak, White House staff. Senate and house staff... Shut em down until Trump stops his little hissyfit.

By law, government employees can not go on strike... although I would like to see many of these nonessential employees do so... then they could be fired and replaced only if their job is essential to the government. It would be a very quick way to "right size"the government... and would send the right message to those who only do the absolute minimum to keep their jobs. BTW... our President offered a too generous compromise and the Democrats refused.... they did not say why.... they just dismissed his compromise.

Why bother trying to respond to Kevyn? He will just continue with his oxymoronic rantings. He never tires of making a mockery of himself.

I was unaware of that policy...
Are teachers not considered government employees? Or does it only apply to federal employees...

The offer was much to generous...
And revealed the true stance of the opposition...

Teachers are state employees and each state has their own guidances. Many states do not have a prohibition on strikes. But, Federal Employees can not strike, but have pathways to voice their grievances. And of course they can run obstructions by having a "sick out" meaning they can organize and have the vast majority call in sick, and as long as they do not have a history of abusing their sick leave and they have sick leave accumulated, there is nothing the government can do about it. In other cases (as if this is not their daily habit) can do a work slow down, doing only the minimum to get by. But... strike... not unless they want to be fired.

A world-class business negotiator has carefully weighed all his options before taking actions and partially shut down the government for non-essential employees until funds for the wall are provided. And generously offered the opposition concessions which they've predictably they've refused. Even though before he became president, the opposition would have eagerly accepted such an offer.
Now the world-class negotiator will drop the hammer on those reprobate scoundrels, give them nothing, declare a national emergency, get the wall funds, which will all be approved by the SCOTUS.
In case you missed it another caravan is heading up from Honduras, the largest caravan to date. Border Patrol agents guarding the border are already stretched to the breaking point. They unanimously say a wall is a necessary part of border security. The military will have to assist again.
The world-class negotiator will get his wall, the resisters will get nothing, and he'll win ree******n in a landslide. And name several more members of the SCOTUS
Oh Happy Day!
You poor schmucks with TDS. It's only gonna get worse for you!

He offered nothing the lower courts stoped his assault on the dreamers and the supreme court refused to hear the case hence the dreamers are fine.
