And the Dirt Keeps Piling up on William Barr - Trump's New AG Nominee

Did you catch Sicialianthing's previous post titled "Trump’s New AG and Robert Mueller are Best Friends"? If not, check it out: https://www.onepoliticalplaza.com/t-150506-1.html

Then there was the article "Attorney General William Barr Was “The Fixer” for President George H.W. Bush"
http://stateofthenation2012.com/?p=110265 which stated. "AG Barr Covered Up BCCI Scandal, Bush Drug-Running Operations; Justified Unlawful Attack on Panama and Kidnapping of Panamanian Gen. Manuel Noriega". Read the entire article for details.

Then there is the article https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/william-barrs-connection-to-ruby-ridge-defending-fbi-snipers/that appeared in "The American Conservative" yesterday entitled, "William Barr’s Connection to Ruby Ridge, Defending FBI Snipers". The following is an excerpt from the article:

"The Senate Judiciary Committee hearings for Attorney General nominee William Barr have focused heavily on Barr’s views on Special Counsel Robert Mueller. But nobody is asking about Barr’s legal crusade for blanket immunity for federal agents who k**led American citizens.

Barr received a routine questionnaire from the Judiciary Committee asking him to disclose his past work including pro bono activities “serving the disadvantaged.” The “disadvantaged” that Barr spent the most time helping was an FBI agent who slayed an Idaho mother holding her baby in 1992. Barr spent two weeks organizing former Attorneys General and others to support “an FBI sniper in defending against criminal charges in connection with the Ruby Ridge incident.” Barr also “assisted in framing legal arguments advanced… in the district court and the subsequent appeal to the Ninth Circuit,” he told the committee.

That charitable work (for an FBI agent who already had a federally-paid law firm defending him) helped tamp down one of the biggest scandals during Barr’s time as Attorney General from 1991 to early 1993. Barr was responsible for both the U.S. Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, two federal agencies whose misconduct at Ruby Ridge “helped to weaken the bond of trust that must exist between ordinary Americans and our law enforcement agencies,” according to a 1995 Senate Judiciary Committee report.

After Randy Weaver, an outspoken white separatist living on a mountaintop in northern Idaho, was entrapped by an undercover federal agent, U.S. marshals trespassed on Weaver’s land and k**led his 14-year-old son, Sammy. The following day, FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi k**led his wife, Vicki, as she was standing in the cabin doorway. Horiuchi had previously shot Randy Weaver in the back after he stepped out of the cabin. The suspects were never given a warning or a chance to surrender and had taken no action against FBI agents. Weaver survived.

After an Idaho jury found Weaver not guilty on almost all charges, federal judge Edward Lodge slammed the Justice Department and FBI for concealing evidence and showing “a callous disregard for the rights of the defendants and the interests of justice.” A Justice Department internal investigation compiled a 542-page report detailing federal misconduct and coverups in the case and suggested criminal charges against FBI officials involved in Ruby Ridge."

While I continue to support President Trump, in good conscience I must call out those actions and decisions in which I disagree with the President. Based upon the information above, William Barr is not who this country now needs to lead our nation as it's top legal officer. Far from it.

Did you catch Sicialianthing's previous post title... (show quote)
This right here, in my humble opinion, is the definition of a "true" Patriot and is what the protection of "free speech" is about - having the freedom to vocally criticize our President when he makes a bad decision (not blindly worshipping him like a cult leader) which I have to agree this nomination is. Just had to say that, because it's a concept many (especially Democrats) seem to be unaware of.
Maybe this nomination is meant to be a win for the Dem.s ( in rejecting him)...you know, a token rejection so when he nominates who he REALLY wants, it'll prove to the Rep.s and Americans that they will reject anyone he nominates and show the Dem.s that conservatives are NOT given to blindly supporting "their" President.
I've also heard that there's an issue with him supporting some severe anti- 2nd Amendment legislation.
Thoughts?

That's an interesting take. I wish it were so, but something tells me the Dems will be on board with this nomination. I have not read anything about his views on curbing 2nd amendment rights. If I do, I will add this to the post.

Spoke to soon on this issue. Here is what he said in 1991:

"It was during the hearings for that position in 1991 that William Barr expressed his support for gun control:

On the assault weapon front, the proposal before us is the DeConcini amendment. And I think ... I would support both the Brady Bill waiting period and the DeConcini [semi-auto ban] amendment, provided that they were parts of a broader and more comprehensive crime bill that included ... very tough provisions on the use of firearms in crimes and illegal purchase and trading in firearms...

So Barr endorsed both the Brady Check portion of the Brady Bill and the semi-auto ban, although he did express a preference for magazine bans: “I would prefer a limitation on the clip [sic] size.”

You can see Barr’s remarks at the 1:42:23 mark in this C-Span video." https://gunowners.org/alert11519.htm

Once again, Trump has reached into the barrel of assholes and pulled out a King Rat. Does he have a death wish and if not, why does he keep appointing men, who will not enforce the laws, and will actually work against him?

Um, because he's human and makes mistakes? If we wanted perfection we all should have written in Jesus Christ on our b****ts.
I belong to a group called "Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership", which is very politically active in following legislation and advocating for the 2nd Amendment. It was this group that posted the information and alert on this nominee.
Call your representative and let them know how you think...and spread the word.
