The Dems picked up seven governorships and I don't know how many seats in state legislatures in addition to 40 seats in the House. That was no small bounce back it was a blue wave and a harbinger of things to come.

Orange County Calif a bastion of Republicanism and once considered to be the country's most Republican district is 100 % Democratic now, in a state that had a history of electing Republicans, progressive Republicans. Yes Republicans are still in charge of the Senate and the White house. But the pendulum swings both ways and it has been swinging right since the 1968 e******n --that's 50 years way past their due date of expiration. The last progressive era had a 40 year run from 1933 to 1973. By 1973 the New Deal coalition was dead and the resurection of the right was well underway. The 1971 Lewis Powell memo (manifesto) to the US Chamber of Commerce provided the road map back and with the e******n of Ronald Reagan in 1980 the resurection of the right was manifest and 2020 will mark a 40 year run for the right --time is up. Time to get out.


The young people to day have no memory of the Purge of the left that began following WW-ll and came to fruition in the early 1970's so haven't been subjected to right wing propaganda like my generation was.
