The argument isn't about protecting our borders but how we are going to do it.

Right now, and until Congress reaches an agreement, The End Justifies The Means.
We can not just leave our borders open to let i******s cross, while so many immigrants are coming through the right way and waiting to recieve their legal privilege to become citizens.
We cannot just let i******s jump ahead of the line in front of these people.
We do have a process, and we do have people waiting to be processed legally.

No one is arguing about securing the border, they're arguing about wasting billions on a wall, physical barrier or wh**ever Trump's calling it today. The CBP have videos of people climbing over steel barriers and cutting through them to get across. Those folk got caught, know why? The video was monitored in real time and officers dispatched immediately.

Equating a wall with security is akin to a security alarm company telling everyone that without their alarms, your home is vulnerable................even though 99% of homes have been adequately protected with locks, deadbolts, motion detecting lights, dogs, shotguns and baseball bats for decades.

We need more people and more technology, not more barriers that have to be monitored by....................people and technology.

This isn't rocket science.

So when did we allow i******s to jump ahead? And you guys keep missing the point that if businesses didn't hire i******s then they would all go away. If you don't want them to jump ahead then stop giving them a job!

And why do you care? Are we supposed to be terrified because Caravans of immigrants are waiting in Mexico asking for asylum here? What exactly are you so afraid of...we might grant them asylum?

How old was that wall/barrier? That's what needs to be updated, when you see overweight invaders climbing a wall something needs to be done! A wall is a deterrent and slows them down so personnel can respond and detain. Proof positive that our border fences/walls/barriers are in need of repair and updating.

DickS,

You should pose that question to peeloosly and upchuck. I wonder how many i******s she has working in her vineyards? When these invaders storm the gates and walls they are jumping ahead.
