According to the Times, the FBI had opened a counterintelligence investigation on President Trump to see if he was an "asset" of Russia. That is about a 6-inch putt from claiming that the President of the United States was an agent of a foreign adversary - a t*****r to his country. This is an extension of the dubious media narrative that there was a criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Beyond the provocative headline, the article is a regurgitation of a bunch of old and relatively benign facts carefully and maliciously assembled to give credence-by-implication to a treasonous President narrative.
