Made it to Amarillo. Worn out. Must sleep. Wake me if I snore too loud. G'night.

You made good time. Fortunately when in Texas, the speed limit is 80 MPH. We once got stopped for doing 85 MPH, but the Officer only gave us a warning, rather than a citation.

You know what I think about speed limits, they should be advisory only. There are times when they just do not make any sense. If speed limits added anything to safety, prove it. The most they contribute is traffic clogs and sleepy/bored drivers. I doubt if there any real reasons for the limits they place on some roads, and even so, why is it a crime to exceed it if no one is in any danger. How do you determine that? Good drivers will usually adjust their speed to the conditions, I doubt if anyone just decides to drive fast just to break the mandate. Enforcing speed limits is a waste of time and effort, There are still accidents, not from speed, but from inattention to the task, or exceeding your own or the vehicles limitations. There are more accidents under speed limits than over them.
